Awesome pasta with generously great amount of mentaiko sauce. Great food for the price!

Really enjoyed this! The scallops were fresh and went very well with the sauce on top. There are only two pieces of scallop, but they’re fairly big and sliced into several pieces. The rice was, as usual, excellent. I think my favourite is still the salmon mentaiko, but that’s because I’m a big fan of mentaiko in general.

Dropped by Chirashi King Kong recently and thought it would be good to switch it up from my usual order of either the Unagi Truffle Bowl or the Salmon Mentaiko Bowl for the King Kong Bowl.

Featuring elements such as Bluefin Tuna Belly, Tuna Belly Minced and Salmon Roe, the King Kong Bowl did not dissapoint with different textures of tuna that were fresh, served atop their signature truffle rice which perfumes of a slight umami aroma that is pretty alluring. The bowl also comes with Ikura Roe which provides a burst of umami along with a popping sensation as well. A little more pricey than my usual order here, but works well for those who like their Tuna sashimi.

The King Kong Bowl is served with negitoro, 2 slices of bluefin tuna belly and ikura. As with their bowls, the fragrant truffle rice base has a good mix of ebiko and furikake for enhanced texture. We also liked the addition of jellyfish, seaweed and pickles as sides for a refreshing change in between mouths. However, while the negitoro was fresh, the tuna slices weren’t the best of quality and were a little tough to chew on. I’d say that their Mentaiko Salmon ($10.90) bowl would be a better bet!


Was a little skeptical coming in, but this was really quite a value for money bowl! Truffle rice is Chirashi King Kong’s signature and is served in all the bowls on their menu. I liked how they thoughtfully mixed in ebiko for that extra pops in texture, alongside its light whiffs of truffle - just enough to not overpower the “mains”. This had 6 slices of salmon and although they could be sliced thicker, they were torched well and topped with a rich mentaiko mayo sauce!
