I certainly don’t write about it enough, but I am a huuuuge sucker for milkshakes. Like I would skip 2 meals to down a large malted milkshake (extra malt please) kinda sucker. Before this CB I had what I would consider to be among the best milkshakes in Singapore, at possibly the most unexpected place: Chix Hot Chicken. I expected good, but this was mindblowingly delish. I’d say it comes close to Five Guys if they offer more flavours. This Chix Milo Shake was so smooth, creamy, and thick, it’s practically a thick shake. I did find the milo flavour a little lacking (it’s a very light chocolatey flavour instead of the malty drink), but I was so happy with the texture this didn’t really matter.

The thing about greasy fast food, is that most of the times no one gives a crap about making the components from scratch. It’s more about finding the right supplier, frying everything then dishing it up; not a whole lot of originality there. Doesn’t mean it ain’t good, just that it’s a lot harder to stand out. But the fact is not every supplier offers the same kinda fries, and obviously not all cheese sauces are equal. I, for one, am not a fan of CHIPPY’s nacho cheese, nor all cinema nacho cheese sauces that has too much of a commercial kinda flavour and a strong underlying sweetness. But I do fancy myself some KFC cheese fries. And as far as cheese fries go, I gotta say that Chix Hot Chicken does a CRAZY mean one. Cheese sauce is GREAT, not overly ‘fake’ if you get what I mean, and is generously ladled over a bed of super tasty and fluffy fries. They’re REALLY fluffy, more thick than your average ones, and really well-seasoned — so so important. “Yeah sure but these are just fries,” you say. Never underestimate the role of fries in a fast food meal mate. Anyhoo, Chix Hot Chicken’s FINALLY getting takeaways and deliveries done! So you guys know where to go if em fast food cravings hit 😘

Ok so I love wings a lot, so much that when L balked at the idea of paying $18.90 for 6 wings I was like “let’s just try it anyway I really wanna!” Hmm let’s just say I prolly should’ve heeded his advice. To be fair the wings were pretty tasty. We had half of them with the dry rub and the other half with the sticky sauce, all in medium heat (very mild btw could hardly get any hint of 🌶), and both unanimously agreed that it’s a lot better with the sauce. The wings were very juicy and moist, crispy and not greasy at all so that was fab. They weren’t anything special though so I can’t see them justifying the hefty price tag. I’d definitely recommend going for their slider/larger cuts of chicken instead!

For starters, it’s huge. Yes they call The Dip ($7.90) here a slider (they’ve got the tiny ass buns to complete the look), but the slab of fried chicken here is MASSIVE. Just notice how much it’s jutting out from the buns, it’s easily larger than my hand (fingers included). But we all know size ain’t the only thing that matters. I was flabbergasted when I bit into it, and released a flood of juices liberally pouring down my fingers. The crunch on the chicken’s great, slightly sweet and sticky sauce absolutely delish, and man I seriously can’t get past how juicy and tender the chicken was. We opted for “Hot”, their 3rd level of 🌶, and it definitely packs ~1.5-2 times the heat of a McSpicy. Seeing the size of the chicken, the satisfaction I’m getting from it, and its price point: I reckon The Dip’s giving the McSpicy a good run for their money.

Really nice this is only 1/3 of the portion, staff were kind to split the portions as I went there as a trio. Chicken is huge and great, goes really well with the bread and pickles👍🏻👍🏻
Tip:their spice level medium isnt actually spicy either, my friend who has low tolerance found it not spicy😂😂 so try the higher levels of spice. Apparently its better👍🏻👍🏻
