Came across this place while looking for a place to eat at the Bukit Timah stretch. The couple who run the place are sweet and friendly. Portions were just nice - not too big but also substantial. Tried the escargots, chicken, steak and fries (pictured), lemon tart and sangria. Taste and texture were great! 11/10 if I could give a grade but I think Burpple only got 5 stars to give 🙃

Was looking for French food and found this little gem on Burpple. We had 2 sets of the Burpple 1for1 3 course dinner, so we tried everything on the menu. Food was very good and wine was paired very well. Service was superb and owners were super friendly. Love this place!

So, we decided to take the risk and celebrate our Valentine’s Day at this place that had not a single dinner review. However, the quality of the food and dining experience easily exceeded both our expectations.

This is a cosy little French patisserie-turned-restaurant just next to Hwa Chong. The French onion soup is by far the best and closest in standard to the one I’ve tried in La Jacobine, Paris. I must say that the chicken was also really well-marinated and tasty. It was served with Potato gratin. And for desert, while the mousse was slightly too sweet for me, the brownie/ice cream was amazing.

Well, the restaurant seemed a little understaffed as they only had 1 waiter that evening, but nonetheless, he coped really well with all the other customers’ demands, and was also really friendly. He even offered us a loaf from the bakery to bring home!

It was definitely a pleasant evening at Choupinette and was not too expensive (~$70+ after taxes), after burpple 1 for 1, for two sets of 3-course. So for those who have been waiting for a review, here’s your green light!

A hidden find along Bukit Timah road, this lovely unassuming French cafe serves a mean lemon tart.

A perfect tart that does not crumble when cut through; the curd - gently firm with just the right amount of zing, topped with toasted meringue that was fluffy but with just the perfect bite. I contemplated not posting this here just because it would be lovely to keep this little cafe private but it truly is too good not to share. Service was personable and the folks there had such incredible passion for the food they served.

Known for having very good eggs ben/royale, Choupinette is a cozy French restaurant tucked away in Bukit Timah. Enjoy an intimate 3-Course Dinner Set Menu ($70) with your loved ones, which comes with a starter of Onion Soup or Escargot. Choose from 4 choices of their signature mains.— Pork Medallion, Chicken Fricassee, Roasted Duck Breast with Raspberry Framboise Sauce or Whole Roasted Quail with Grape Sauce. End off the sweet night with Creme Brulee or Chocolate Mousse.

Love their Eggs Benedict's set, which comes with a fruit juice and a hot coffee/tea. Also satisfied with truffle fries and bacon sides! It was a good addition to the set.
