Their sides are really quite good. Overall seems like a place with standards, particularly if you order the correct things.

Food:
A great version. The garlic punch is there and the sauce was balanced while being multilayered.

Food:
Soup is really quite rich in collagen, but needs a little more umami to be elite.

Lamb ribs really were good. Very tender, almost cottony with ample meaty flavour. They deserve all their praises

Chose knife shaved noodles and they suck. It's very soft store bought noodles

Offal were okay, some overly chewy bits

A lot of kelp, simple Chinese spices w some heat.

Not bad

They really are good. There's a great deal of balance in the dish, it's satisfying yet not overly spicy or wtv. Ckn was good as well

One of the better versions, this is definitely worth a try if you're here.

If you like lamb this is the perfect place for you . They have lamb spine , lamb tongue , lamb marrow , lamb dumplings etc in a nice selection of milky collagen or spicy broths for a hearty nourishing hotpot . The staff are incredibly friendly and will patiently explain the finer points on the menu esp the portioning which is really different from what I’m used to from HDL . The soup base we wanted already comes with 1kg of lamb in the soup ! So the kind lady advised us to not over order other meats . Value for money too .
Oh and do try the lamb tongue.

It's quite a common cold appetiser in Chinese restaurants but chuan yang ji's dish definitely stands out because of its secret source. It's a mixture of white sesame, vinegar, oyster sauce and chill. The chicken is tender as expected.
