The broth was very flavourful and full of ingredients. Prawns and clams were also fresh. The seafood taste in the broth added a refreshing change from the usual kimchi stews I have had, loved it!
Visited Chug Chug at PLQ3.
Tried the below dishes and arranged in accordance of my preference:
π« King prawn tom yum pasta ($24+): this was quite a highly recommended dish based on reviews I read. Creamy tomyum sauce that was slightly spicy w 2 king prawns and 2-3 slices of squid. Not alot of ingredients I must say.
π« Kimchi buttermilk chicken burger ($18+): the kimchi taste in the chicken burger patty wasn't v pronounced though the patty was quite well marinated. a huge slab of chicken patty was given, enough for sharing among 5 pax! The fries were just like MacDonald fries and too fried for me.
π« Ginseng chicken stew ($16+): who doesn't love ginseng chicken stew! And for this price, I thought it was quite worth it! The ginseng soup wasn't over powering too so I like! One chicken drumstick given for this.
π« Soy garlic fried chicken ($16+): 8 pieces of winglets given! The plate was filled with the honey sauce for us to lick up with the winglets! Crispy chicken wings. Recommended!
π« Jjajangmyeon ($12.9+): chewy potato noodles with mushrooms and pork slices! But the sauce was slightly sweet
π« Bean paste stew ($16+): this stew came with a section of a flower crab and a few clams. My least recommended dish because it is so troublesome to eat a flower crab outside home π€£

Army STEW (Budae Jjigae) is something you can enjoy not just on a rainy day but every day! π To me, this is essentially hotpot gone Korean style! π°π· This rendition from @chugchugsg ($39.90) is certainly up my alley! π
.
This βhotpot partyβ features a plethora of ingredients such as savoury sausages & spam (luncheon meat), ham π, pepperoni, QQ mochi-like rice cakes with stretchy cheese π§, meaty mandu (dumplings) π₯, soft kimchi, leek & springy ramyeon! π Most importantly, there is the SECRET to their good soup base - gochuchang sauce! πΆ
Located in a quieter part of PLQ, Chug Chug serves Korean food and drinks. The army stew was tasty and it has a large variety of ingredients such as cheese rice cakes, pepperoni, luncheon meat, sausages and noodles. We enjoyed this and it was comfort food indeed.
Tom Yum pasta with king prawn, look how big the prawn is, also fresh and peeled! Fried Mushroom with Curry Cream is okay but a little soggy after the long distance. Duck & Seafood crepe was decent, sauce tasted kinda like mustard with something. Tom Yum pasta is officially my kind of thing now.
@chugchugsg tucked at a location far far away from Paya Lebar stn, situated at the heart of PLQ3.
