Chye Kee Goldhill Chicken Rice

Served with handcrafted wanton in broth.
Springy egg noodles in signature sauce, sliced CharSiew & green vegetables.
Added a braised egg.
Yummy!

It’s not gourmet level but rather food that comforts and hugs your soul. Maybe cause it reminds me a little of childhood and a little of home (kinda like mom’s home cooked meals).

Plain roast pork belly ($5 worth). Asked for fatty parts.
In terms of quantity it’s fairly the same as most other places. Average portion. As for the proportion of fat vs meat, I’d prefer if there was more fat though.

Tried their Dry Macaroni with Roast Chicken. Al-dente macaroni tossed in dark soy sauce, sesame oil & chilli, topped with slices of succulent & tender roast chicken. Added a portion of crispy pork belly too.

Nothing fanciful (Read: Not photogenic) but beyond its looks, this bowl of macaroni has this comforting, "home-cooked" feel which I like. #comfortfood Will be back to try other items!

PS: Try to avoid going there during peak hours, especially lunch-time as it is crowded.

If you feel like having dessert after that, there's always Llao llao, Ah Chew desserts or Udders. haha.

Roasted Chicken Rice

Usually I will opt for the roasted chicken rice / macaroni. The noodles here weren't as QQ springy as I hoped, and the sauce was slightly too salty /overpowering. I very much prefer the Hong Kong kind of wanton Mee soup 😉
