Finally visited Chye Seng Huat Hardware for the first time today! I have always known this place for their coffee, so I didn’t expect their mains to be this good as well. The Prawn Pesto Spaghetti ($22) is delicious - the garlicky pesto has a lemony tang to it and it goes well with the sun-dried tomatoes, fried basil leaves, prawns and pasta. Extra points for big and crunchy prawns! Papa’s Breakfast ($22) is quite good too - it comes with mushrooms chicken sausage, sautéed portobello mushrooms, hash brown, focaccia toast, eggs of your choice, mizuna and cherry tomato confit. Every ingredient was well executed and there really isn’t anything to nitpick. Although the mains can be a little pricey, the tasty food, hearty portions and nice ambience make up for it:)

The old fashioned butter cake was pretty nostalgic. It had that strong buttery fragrance which reminded me of the pound cake my folks used to buy for me for breakfast when I was a kid. Those days where simple pleasure includes having a slice of cake with hot Milo, though I have slowly evolved to coffee as I aged.

It arrived well wrapped in cling wrap, which kept it moist even though I didn’t have it the same day I received it.

Earl Grey cake was delightfully light on the palate, Almond crossiant was fresh and crispy, perfect with an iced latte. Lovely interior as well.

Went on a coffee hunt around sg- CSHH is a branch of PPP coffee and uses these local coffee beans in their coffee! Envt was very cozy and loved the exterior hardware shop rustic feels.
Got a raisin danish just to fill the tummy but it wasn’t warmed that properly and we had to ask the staff twice to warm it up.
Coffee itself was good, not too milky nor acidic and I liked the good soy milk used in the soy latte as well 😊

We got the Lemon Tart and the Almond Croissant. Both were STUNNING! Arguably the best of both pastries I've ever had. We also got a batch brew, which was a good pick me up for the price, and a can of oat milk cold brew, which was just nice. The Papa's Breakfast (not pictured) tasted nice - the foccacia was crunchy and the tomatoes were extra flavourful as they were cooked with garlic.

Dark chocolate, rich hazelnut, creamy which is right up my alley (I’m the kind that usually goes for mocha and I loved this).
