Ciel Pâtisserie is about pure, unadulterated goodness in your favourite sweets. Ciel Pâtisserie was born out of the belief that good desserts need not be fancy or pricey; Good desserts should simply taste heavenly. In fact, it is the simple desserts that are often the most wholesome and deeply satisfying. That is why we are called 'ciel', pronounciation [see-el] and French for 'sky' or 'heaven' - because we believe this is where everyone can truly have a slice of heaven!

While the 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝘁 looked gorgeous, the tart shell was too hard to even cut apart using the fork provided. The pleasantly tangy passionfruit cream was complemented nicely by the sweet meringue, so this would've been an excellent dessert if the tart shell was softer.

I'm impressed with the offerings at @cielpatisserie and wouldn't hesitate to make a return trip to try the other items on the menu.

Not sure what took me so long to visit Ciel Patisserie, but I'm glad when I did. Situated at the void deck of a block of HDB flats, it counts gelato shop Lickers and an insanely popular TCM clinic as its neighbours. As I was there quite late, the items on offer were very limited.

The 𝗢𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗵 𝗢𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗵, which featured fluffy pandan sponge filled with gula melaka infused coconut and topped with more gula melaka frosting, was absolutely divine. You can't go wrong with the combination of pandan and coconut, and the inclusion of gula melaka brilliantly boosted the amalgamation.

The rose is quite interesting with the crumbly texture of flakey cornflake biscuit and layered with light rose cream. Not bad if you don't like rich desserts. Feels like a 'girl' type of cake. Sorry for the cliché stereotype 😜 Haha. The Bombe is a rich dark chocolate with fresh blueberries inside. The cookie base is nice but it seems stuck to the bottom so it kinda separated from the mousse when I tried to cut it with my fork. Overall,Not too bad if you happen to be in the vicinity. I paid about $18plus for 2cakes and a drink.

Their tarts were sold out by 3pm on a Saturday so the Bombe (a chocolate mousse with scattered blue berries) ($6.50) was the next best thing.

The chocolate mousse was milk chocolate and the blue berries still crunchy. The crispy base was a little weird that detached from the rest of the dessert so had to eat that separately. (7.5 out of 10)

*Note: my taste palate leans towards dark bitter chocolate at a sweet spot of 65%-72% cocoa. So please use that as a gauge of my taste perspective.
