One of the recommended flavours, not as sweet as I thought it would be and taste was unique (not your original latte 👍🏻)

Take a coffee break. And why not have a taro butter toast to round it up? #tingzieeats #burpple

A bit sweet, a bit salty and a bit bitter. None overpowering the other.

The slab of butter that didn't need to be there. 😰 when I chose taro creme, I was thinking of smooth thick orh ni rather than literally taro flavoured cream. 😅 A case of misunderstood menu. I loved the ambience, the price and the fact they used whole wheat bread. But the yuan yang didn't quite cut it as well. 🙃 You know how yuan yang has a certain identity of being coffee w a tinge or tea taste / tea w a tinge of coffee taste. But theirs was more like half half until no distinct taste. Maybe I'm being too critical. But I mighttttt just come back for black sesame toast to give it another try. I do hope that black sesame is just grounded black sesame paste?

I found Coffee Break by chance, thanks to Burpple's improved app. This café is nested within Ascent, and they do not have many tables here, so it's good for takeaways. It's also kind of interesting to see a traditional coffee house decor but hear the sounds of steam coming out from the coffee machine.

Anyway, they offer interesting flavours of toast from S$2.80 onwards. This Premium Toast Set (S$4.90) comes with toast and a hot beverage. After trying out exotic flavours like Rum & Raisin (in picture) and Taro Creme, I think the toast incorporates a special ingredient from the Western fare -- whipped cream. Definitely, with a combination of toasted wholemeal sandwich bread and flavoured cream and raisins (referring to the Rum & Raisin toast), this set turns out to be quite refreshing for me. On the other hand, what this set lacks, might just be the taste of richness from the heritage of coffee shop kopi and roti.

Haha 😅 Came here to give their flavoured kopi drinks a try: Black Sesame Latte ($4.80) Salted Caramel Latte ($4.80). Black sesame latte had a powdery consistency like it didn't really dissolve into the drink. A syrup/jam/sauce sorta thing would probably have worked better 🤔 Read good reviews about Taro Toast but it wasn't on rotation when I went sooooo Black Sesame Premium Toast ($3.30) it was! Liked the toast better than the coffee. Really crispy but so pricy I don't think I will try again anytime soon #burpple #dqky
