Durian chendol soft serve. The only other time I had chendol soft serve was from 7/11 eons ago (crap I might have just revealed how ancient I am) and this blows it out of the water. I had the normal chendol 馃崷previously and that was already so good to begin with. If you enjoy the taste of durian, the durian topping will bring a smile to your face. #burpple #overrunsg When you have objects in the foreground and background of the same color, the portrait mode on the iPhone 7+ will mostly likely mess up, as you can see with the spoon being 'bokeh-ed' out too.

Overly Sinful, Overly Satisfying Queued for at least 10 mins before getting this durian chendol softserve ($7) And it was great. I love that it successfully Incorporated the flavours of chendol into an ice cream concoction, though they could have been more generous with their ingredients. The durian was fresh, and had a very sweet note to it, which sort of overpowered the entire dish. Being the durian lover that I am, I did not complain. But if you're a chendol purist, give the durian version a miss. I highly recommend you to share this as it does get a little jelat after a few mouthfuls.

Strawberries On Every Level $5.30 Strawberry Roll One of the cheaper item on the menu. There was strawberry on every layer of the cake, from the fresh strawberry topping/fillings, to the strawberry cream and finally the strawberry sponge. Luxurious cake that will definitely be worth the indulgence by any strawberries lover.

On most days, @timchee do not allow me to indulge in my desserts craving. But since it is the end of the year, he asked "shall we go for desserts?" and my eyes lit up 馃槏. The strawberry roll was good, wasn't too sweet and very fragrant. But the choux puff was way too dry for our liking. The custard tasted quite odd too and didn't remind me of pudding though it was a pudding puff. Happy New Year Guys! 馃嵈 #burpple #henricarpentier #desserts

Mille Crepe In search of the best mille crepe cake in Singapore, I found myself standing in front of Henri Charpentier鈥檚 second branch located at聽Orchard Central聽and just staring at the wide array of pastries as well as cakes. My eyes wondered to the Matcha Roll Cake and Pudding Chou but my heart was set on having their Mille Crepe. At $9.60 per slice, their rendition is definitely one of the pricier mille crepe cakes that I have tried. Supported by a base of classic sponge cake, the delicate soft crepes were layered with slightly more cream than usual and a little sweeter, in my opinion. However, still delectable and worth a try; the cake was聽fluffy and moist with the medley of fruit toppings to give it a touch of tanginess.

Northern Tom Yum Noodles Set Lunch ($11.80) I've been a fan of Tuk Tuk Cha's thick and robust Thai Milk Tea. This is my first proper meal at this special Tuk Tuk Cha outlet at Velocity that serves mains such as Northern Tom Yum Noodles and Beef Noodles. Other mains (Hot & Sour La Mian, Tomato Egg La Mian and Minced Pork La Mian) are not available currently. I enjoy food that is spicy yet not overwhelming. This tom yum soup base was just right for me. 馃構 Shiok spiciness that makes me perspire and sourish broth that keeps me sipping nonstop. Although the image on menu shows 3 prawns, I only got 2. Well, I don't really mind since there is a disclaimer that states illustration purposes anyway. And there were chunks of fish and slices of sotong to make up for it. 馃槉 FYI: Tuk Tuk Cha @ Velocity offers value lunch sets (Main + Drink) everyday from 12pm to 2pm at the cost of $9.80 onwards. Choice of drinks include Thai Milk Tea/Coffee, Lemongrass or Roselle. 馃槑

Thai Ice-cream Toast! For $11.50, I would say this is quite a steal. I saw them butter the bread exterior with butter(oh so sinful) but this made the bread so crisp on the outside. The inside was still soft and went real well with the thai ice-cream. How they make a crisp exterior and fluffy interior makes me wonder-the top is also covered with a sorta speculoos butter spread as well. Whipped cream on the side too:)

Mango Tango Shibuya Toast Had the Mango Tango toast for the first time a week ago and pretty impressed with it even though I was no mango-lover; usually would opt for the Matcha or Coconut options instead. Brought my folks this time to the Velocity branch instead, and impressed they were as well 鈥 those fresh, sweet Mango chunks and the bright, mango-flavoured ice-cream that is creamy and smooth all atop their signature buttery and crisp toast with a little tension when one pulls them apart. Always a satisfying visit to any of their branches for how consistent their quality is!

馃幖 And between now and then, till I see you again,I'll be loving you. Love Mee 馃幖 Stumbled a Tuk Tuk Cha X Love Mee outlet at Novena Square, and got a bowl of Beef Noodles for comfort. Tuk Tuk Cha is everywhere ah! Make big $$$$. Geng Mak! The noodles are specially imported from Thailand, and fresh, not cooked from the dried type. Like the beef broth which was tasty and robust. I think too much noodles though. Haha. #DFDNoodles

For Excellent Locally-Inspired Cakes As well as doling out popular weekday lunch sets and brewing coffee from Drury Lane to the hungry lunchtime crowds in Jurong, this spacious cafeteria has an unassuming array of cakes from In the Brickyard that you shouldn't miss out on. A sure winner here is the Ondeh Ondeh ($38 for whole cake, $5.50 a slice) 鈥 pandan infused sponge cake with a smooth, creamy gula Melaka frosting. They're not kidding when they say it is the "softest pillowy sponge" 鈥 it's so dangerously addictive that you are likely to be gobbling up forkfuls until it's all gone. They also offer some pretty tasty sliced cakes like the crowd pleasing Thai Milk Tea Cake ($5.50 a slice). *Whole cakes have to be ordered four days in advance Photo by Burppler Muriel A

Ondeh Ondeh Cake ($5.50/slice; $38, whole) I first tried inthebrickyard's Ondeh Ondeh Cupcake back when they were still an online shop and I loved the intensity of the natural flavours. Glad I finally had the chance to visit their new space and savour their signature again, this time in the form of cake. The airy cake base is as fragrant as ever, thanks to the naturally perfumed coconut milk (with pandan leaves) incorporated in the batter. The coconut milk-kissed frosting and the splash of gula Melaka in between the layers add extra savoury punches to counter the overall sweetness too. A very unique cake and definitely one of my favourites here. 馃憤馃徏

Ondeh Ondeh Cake ($38; Whole / $6.50; Slice) A good party always ends with a good cake indeed! This fluffy ondeh ondeh cake would be a great choice for both the old & young to enjoy. It's not too sweet, not too creamy & smells ohhh so guud. The strong flavours of pandan & coconut really comes through with every bite. There's also gula melaka within the layer of each sponge! Overall, a really light & fragrant cake. Definitely recommending this for those who are looking for some sweet dessert right after a heavy meal! 馃尵馃尵

Really Like The Topping I Got I got the fun size with 2 toppings: croco milk and nata de coco. The croco milk added a nice crunchy texture to the smooth frozen yoghurt. The frozen yoghurt taste like normal yoghurt, which I'm learning that charcoal doesn't really have a taste? They also had children's toys to fiddle with. One bad thing was that the middle of the yoghurt cup is empty. That made me feel like I didn't get my money's worth.

For Charcoal Frozen Yoghurt in Toa Payoh This cozy joint in the heart of Toa Payoh serves charcoal frozen yoghurt that is set to give other yoghurt chains a run for their money. Made with natural black charcoal powder, the "incredibly soft and velvety" yoghurt will create a "silky sensation that will send immense pleasure to your palate," says Burppler Ken Poon. For a satisfying midday snack, opt for the Pistachio ($6.90), one of the two signatures on the menu. The charcoal yoghurt comes drizzled generously with lusciously rich Pistachio sauce that you can't get elsewhere! Otherwise, customise your own by choosing from four sizes like the Mini Me ($2.90), which comes with one topping, to the Popular ($5.90), which comes with two toppings and one sauce. What makes this joint stand out from the rest is their unusual selection of toppings and sauces. These include toppings like sliced watermelons, nata de coco and our favourite brownie brittle, and more unusual sauces like choco wafer and croco milk. The latter is a combination of chocolate sauce and biscuit balls. Black Mamba also dishes out Lava Cakes ($7.90) available in both chocolate and matcha flavours.
