Have always been intrigued by the pastries and bakes selection at Common Man Stan, but have not got quite the opportunity to head down there to give them a try until fairly recently and chanced upon these.

Coming in a portion of two pieces, these House-made Sausage Rolls work extremely well as a light breakfast treat or a mid-day light bite β€” being just bite-sized morsels or puff pastry with a chicken sausage within; flaky, crusty and buttery pastry that encases a savoury, peppery meatball-esque filling within, while the sesame seeds over the top helps to add a slight roast-y note that finishes it perfectly. Best paired with a hot Long Black at the side; works well for those who prefer having a savoury light bite with their cuppa rather than the usual sweets that other cafes usually seem to serve up.

We ordered the Organic Eggs Benedict ($26), Turkish Common Man Breakfast ($27) and Cubanos Sandwich ($26). The order arrived fairly quickly and the food was really good! The Turkish breakfast was so beautifully plated and rich in flavor. The beef in the eggs benedict was also tender and melt-in-the-mouth. Highly recommended and good value for money (especially with the relatively higher price tag compared to other cafes)! :)

I enjoyed the balance of flavours of the coffee and chocolate in this. The coffee was fragrant as well.

Was craving creamy scrambled eggs one day and ended up having them with the Common Man Full Breakfast at @commonmanstan. This came with eggs, bacon, tomato, Portobello mushroom, sausage, baked beans, sourdough and vegetable rosti. It truly lived up to its name because I was very full after this indeed. I enjoyed everything especially the eggs as well πŸ˜‹ Will be back for their donuts one Friday! πŸ€—

A friend raved about this and it truly didn’t disappoint 😍 If you’re a fan of rich chocolate cakes, you’ll definitely want to get this! Wasn’t too sweet, and paired really well with the vanilla ice cream. Even my friend who hates cakes loved it. Bigger than pictured though so would recommend sharing with a friend else it may get a little jelat. Will be back to try their other offerings!

I must commend the detail put into the glaze of this donut. A thin dark chocolate layer set the right canvas for an acidic fruity contrast by the dried raspberries: impressive🍩
-
The donut base fell short though. It’s mushy, lacks the airy bite, and honestly: a lil awkward. It tethered on the edge of fluffy and fried dough, which was honestly strange to me. πŸ˜”

Sorry, my donut spot still goes to Korio.
