Checked out Cowpresso Coffee Roasters; while the brand name may be quite familiar with coffee lovers who recognise them as a coffee roaster and distributor of coffee-related wares (including coffee grinders and machines), they had also recently opened a showroom-cum-cafe at Sun Court along Lorong Kilat. The space, decked in a white colour theme with a minimalistic design language, boasts a rather sizeable alfresco dining area and an indoor dine-in space that has been split into two sections, one comprising of a less formal seating with couches and benches, while the other closest to the counter being a proper dine-in area with dining tables and chairs. While being known for their coffee, Cowpresso Coffee Roasters does serve up hot food here — the current range available during their soft launch were the fries and various flavours of their soft-serve ice-cream, though they do have pasta and donuts that will be available as they go into official launch.

We were pretty tempted by their offering of soft-serve ice-cream here and this decided to go for it — apart from the waffle cone option which we went for, the soft-serve ice-cream are also available as an add-on to the donuts which they are intending to serve up in the future. There are three different varieties of soft-serve ice-cream here — the Milk Creme, Roasted Pistachio and The Mix; the last of which being a half-on-half swirl on the former two. It seems that the Milk Creme comes with a topping of salted popcorn, while the Roasted Pistachio comes with grounded pistachio. We quite liked both flavours individually — the Milk Creme is intense and rich; almost to that of the Hokkaido Milk Soft-Serve from Ryugetsu at Takashimaya Food Hall that I absolutely adore. The Roasted Pistachio was nothing short of being especially nutty and slightly saltish; we were surprised how it wasn’t particularly milky here where some pistachio ice-creams usually are. The texture of the soft serve is also consistent — smooth and creamy. That being said, we would probably order the two flavours individually next time; the Milk Creme does seem to overpower the Roasted Pistachio for the most part.

Beauty World is home to many other cafes of the likes of Carpenter & Cook, Revelry, The Signature Patisserie, FlagWhite, Salted Caramel etc.; Cowpresso Coffee Roasters just adds to the crowded cafe scene of the area further. That being said, there aren’t many others apart from FlagWhite here that serves up as coffee as seriously as Cowpresso Coffee Roasters here, which makes it a destination for avid coffee lovers to check out. Will be looking forward for their official launch where pastas and donuts will be available, making it a one-stop destination for a full meal with specialty coffee and dessert in a single seating.
