I finally got down to trying the lava cookie set ($8.90, inclusive of ice cream of your choice) from Creamery Boutique Ice Cream:) I’m not a big fan of chocolate (yes such people exist), so I’m glad they have non-chocolate options such as red velvet cookie with cream cheese lava, which I paired with Banoffee ice cream (banana, toffee & choco mud pie). You know you are dealing with insta-worthy food when the server ask if you‘ll like to take a boomerang of her topping the cookie with ice cream😂

The warm red velvet cookie is served on a hot skillet pan and the cream cheese lava oozes out the moment the ice cream is placed on top of the cookie. For someone who is lacking in the sweet tooth department, the red velvet cookie tastes and smells soooo good! The tanginess of the cream cheese lava cuts through the sweetness of the cookie, and the warm cookie goes very well with the banoffee ice cream that is part creamy and part chewy. Love the cornflakes bits on top of the ice cream❤️ Overall, I like that this dessert is warm and comforting, not overly sweet and big enough to be shared👏🏻!

Lava cookies and ice cream! What not to like about? Read about this place and decided to make a special trip to try the cookies.

And it definitely didn’t disappoint! The matcha lava flowed out once the Milo ice cream landed on the cookie. The matcha was thick and not overly sweet, and went well with the chewy cookie base. The Milo ice cream was rich and creamy, but I might go for a lighter flavoured ice cream next time to complement the matcha lava better.
