The twist here is the puff pastry used in place of bread as a vehicle for the yummy local fillings created by Chef Damian D'Silva of South East Sliders. The Big D, or chicken curry devil, was big and bold in the flavour department from the aromatics and spices used to marinate the moist and tender shredded chicken. Strangely enough there was some sort of nacho cheese in there but that worked surprisingly well too. Lipsmacking innovative street food, but can be pricey at $7 for a smallish portion.

Zhuwei from South East Sliders and his megawatt smile. The queue for their tasty grub was MAD long.

By The Travelling C.O.W. Chocolate shavings and slices of beef between plain buns. Sweet and dry at the same time :(

The folks at Artichoke have nailed it with this one. Velvety smooth refreshing coconut ice cream paired with savoury Jagabee chips, pretzel, pomegranate and caramel sauce. The sweet/salty contrast here is perfect. Genius! $5

My maiden taste of The Ice Cream Co.'s ice-cream cookie occurred at the Creatory event. It was going for only $6 so there was no reason not to. I decided on the Toasted Marshmallow from the three available variants. What I liked best was the ice-cream itself - it's a generous solid block of frozen vanilla deliciousness. Clasping it were two soft and chewy cookies, fragrant with brown sugar and a hint of cinnamon. I'd say they formed a satisfying (and filling!) combo that worked nicely.

Sampled "The Big D" by Southeast Sliders at Creatory, the weekend event going on at 37 MacTaggart Road. The original spicy filling's made of "Curry Devil", a traditional Eurasian dish, which I found to be delish. On the other hand, the puff pastry forming the "bun" had a stale oil taste. I'm sure this is not the case usually because there have only been raves about Southeast Sliders' offerings.
