The gelatos over at Creme & Cone are freshly churned daily with no preservatives. They even have handmade and hand-rolled flavored cones infused with bandung or milo at an additional $1 each.

The ice cream here melts faster than usual even when we were having it in the shop itself. We got their signature flavors such as lychee raspberry and milo & cookies and pair them with bandung and milo cone respectively. The lychee raspberry comes with luscious tropical goodness infused with floral notes of premium quality Japanese rose powder while the milo & cookies has malty, chocolatey goodness that is smooth, creamy, and filled with fresh-baked chocolate cookies. I prefer the former as it was more light, floral and refreshing.

Thanks to Burpple Beyond, we get to enjoy 2 Single Scoop Gelato for the price of 1 ✌ (U.P $4.80 + $1 Cone)

The newly-opened Crème & Cone, which has been making waves on Instagram, needs no introduction. Situated at Food Folks @ Lau Pa Sat, the pastel aesthetic of the gelateria is sure to catch anyone’s eye. I had the Deep Dark Chocolate with a Bandung Cone, while my friend had the Blueberry Lavender with an Original Cone. I was really fascinated by the handrolled Bandung waffle cone, with its fragrant scent and adorable pink colour (which was the deciding factor in convincing me to get it)! The bandung taste was pretty legitimate, and the waffle cone was also crispy and extremely enjoyable.

Although I enjoyed the bittersweet tones of the Deep Dark Chocolate, which was recommended to us by the staff, it melted extremely fast and created a gigantic sticky mess on my hands, which made the experience more unpleasant than it should have been. I was also pretty confused, as my friend’s Blueberry Lavender melted at an appropriate pace and did not leak out of the cone. Nonetheless, it has to be acknowledged that the scoop size was much more generous than most others that I have tried and will definitely be a bang for your buck!

Located within the ‘modernised’ area of Lau Pa Sat, Creme & Cone is housed in the Food Folks section, with air conditioning to cool you down from the unforgiving sun. There’s a good spread of flavours, but nothing that I would call extraordinarily “wow”. Apart from safe flavours like chocolate, they’re huge on local and tropical flavours - Milo, mango passionfruit, speculoos cookies, Hitam. I’m not a fan of these local flavours Ice cream wise but cone wise, thumbs up for their Bandung cone! It really does come with a rather strong Bandung taste. +$1 for Bandung cone. They also have Milo cone too!

This was an unexpectedly good find! Each scoop is huge and I was surprised to see a steady stream of customers even on a weekday night. Ordered single scoops ($4.60) - the pistachio is a tad sweet but has the most fragrant roasted flavour! Dark chocolate was very thick but did taste as premium as I’d expect. Looking forward to trying more flavours!

Milo Cookie - The malty flavours were on point and had bits of milo powder that had hardened into sweetened lumps – kind of like the Milo Dinosaur but in ice-cream form.

This was screaming diabetes as the waffles were drizzled with chocolate sauce and topped with chocolate chips and oreos. The sweet toppings overpowered the waffles’ flavour and the waffles were more soggy than crispy. Only worth a try for someone with a sweet tooth.
