The burger was huge and tastes decent. Fish N Chips tastes great, even thou it kind of look quite pathetic and was slightly overcooked and rather oily. Probably would try again during non-peak hours to see if the quality improves.

You know that cafe along Orchard Road right in Tangs Marriot that most locals walk past on the way to Far East Plaza but never quite seem to stop and enter? That’s Crossroads Cafe. I think the restaurant is really popular with expatriates or tourists, as it was full even at 7pm on Thursday night.

I confess that if it weren’t for Burpple Beyond, I probably wouldn’t have suggested this as a dinner location with my friends. Crossroads Cafe has two different Burpple Beyond offers - 1 for 1 Main Dishes and 1 for 1 Cocktails. We arrived in time for Happy Hour (before 8pm), and got a Sangria for $10++.

The Chicken Shish Kebab was not eligible for the 1 for 1 offer, but it was one of the seasonal dishes from the Middle East available till 30 November.

For $23, I was very satisfied with the portion size. Though it was quite carb heavy with the pita bread and fries. Perhaps a choice of more salad instead of fries would have been nice. I wasn’t quite a fan of the pita bread as it wasn’t fluffy, it was dense and compacted, plus it was quite hard to cut with a knife. That said, the greek yogurt sauce, mixed greens and grilled chicken were 💯. The chicken kebab was nicely seasoned, plus the meat was super soft. I love the lemon yogurt dressing which added a tang to the grilled chicken.

Definitely worth a shot if you’re visiting Crossroads before end of November.

When weekends come around and brunch beckons, head over this al fresco cafe at the entrance of Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel. Come with an empty stomach and dive straight for the lavish Crossroads All-Day Breakfast Platter ($27) – think bacon, mushrooms, hash brown, eggs and sausage paired with toast (choice of sourdough or wholemeal) or an English muffin. Don't miss out on the decadent Primetime Burger ($38), featuring lightly seasoned wagyu beef patty accompanied by seared foie gras, bacon, Stilton cheese, pickled onions, arugula and a spread of black garlic aioli sandwiched between a charcoal bun.

Nice food, nice presentation, good portion size.

Expect around $100 for 2 with drinks. Very romantic yet chilled out vibe.

The best part about this place is the Ambience. Right in the middle of orchard Road with outdoor seating.

Will definitely visit again some day.

The plant-based patty tasted like real beef. I probably cannot tell the difference in a blind taste. The burger comes with crisp tomato, refreshing cucumber salsa, creamy raita, red onion and arugula, sandwiched with soft sesame bun. Not forgetting the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger ($26) which is as good too. Tender chicken patty accompanied with red cabbage slaw, gherkins and spicy mayonnaise. It actually tastes like McDonald McSpicy!

I am one of the culprits for sure but now, you should actually take notice of this place as this cafe serves up pretty decent burgers. From now to 30 April, they have a launched a seasonal menu of 4 unique gourmet burgers and here are my recommendations for you!
I for once am not a big fan of lamb but when I first sink my teeth into the Lamb Burger ($32), there is only a slight gaminess from the patty as most of it has been masked out by the goat cheese. With a touch of mango chutney and tzatziki sauce to cut out the greasiness and the vegetable bhaji to give it a crunch, this is a well executed burger.
The star of the night has got to be The Primetime Burger ($38) with the wagyu beef patty that’s lightly seasoned with salt and pepper and accompanying it is a piece of seared foie gras, strips of bacon, some Stilton Cheese, pickled onions, arugula and finally a spread of black garlic aioli sandwiched between a charcoal bun. This monstrous burger will leave you feeling satisfied and filled to the brim.
