Always heartened to see local brands expanding their portfolio to keep it fresh & interesting. CRUST is beer that makes a difference, & I’ve been avidly following their journey since the start.

The brand’s beliefs in upcycling food waste into beverages for a more circular economy really spoke/speak to me, & I was impressed by the passion & dreams of the founders Travin & Ben when I first spoke to them last year.

Of course, it also helps that this is beer we are talking about… 😂

Cracked open their latest brew, CITRAL, on a sweltering hot afternoon. It’s a hazy pale ale made from surplus bread & lemon myrtle - a beautiful flowering plant - from our very own Gardens by the Bay. While it is fairly aromatic with notes of citrus & herbs, it also has a subtle bitterness that is pleasant & not overpowering.

So if you’re expecting something that tastes like a cider, you’re not going to get it. This is a beer that is more complex (my tastebuds generally don’t fancy ciders anw), & plus points for being for a good cause 😉 #saveacrust
