skin a bit thick but i really liked the juicy filling!

very mid no flavour and small portion

Enjoy a feast of a time with the unique pairing of Steamed Prawn and Cheese Xiao Long Bao ($15.90 for 6 pieces) for a sweet and savoury flavour in a dumpling. Whet your appetite with the Chinese Lettuce Salad in Szechuan Style ($9.90) that brings a spicy numbing sensation or take things slow with the Chilled Crab Meat Crystal Jelly ($10.90 for 6 pieces) that is served with a tangy black vinegar dip and is milder for the palate.

Once the tastebuds have been awoken, it is time for the heavy hitters starting with the Shredded Crispy Duck served with Pancake ($18.90) that you can make your roll with julienne cucumber, spring onion and Chef’s special sauce. There are two new fish trays in the menu, one of them being the Mala Grilled Patin Fish ($52.90) that is swimming in a mala broth with ingredients such as beancurd knot, black fungus, lotus root, preserved vegetables and flat mung bean noodles.

There are carb options such as three kinds of small bowl la mians, in which we got the Dry Dan Dan Small Bowl La Mian ($6.90). To cap off an excellent meal, you have to try out their unique handcrafted desserts such as the Purple Sweet Potato & Cheese Pastry ($5.90 for 4 pieces) which came piping hot and a mozzarella cheese filling.

La Mian w Chilled Poached Chicken in Szechuan Style - $12.80
·
Tuck into springy la mian & tender poached chicken in an appetising and tangy Szechuan sauce. All is good, less the century egg which I don’t dare to touch. No more boring chicken noodle going forward

One of my favourite dishes to order whenever I chance upon it in a chinese restaurant. I realised different eateries cook their egg whites to different stages of firmness. The one at Crystal Jade is pretty firm but that’s not a bad thing. Definitely try to eat this warm. So when it’s served, pour in the vinegar and white pepper and mix it up with the egg yolk!

It’s got the right mix of saltiness and sourness from the vinegar, plus the egg whites are so smooth and yummy. I think this would be a great choice for someone looking for a healthier dish, with high protein content.

This dish is listed as one of the best sellers in Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao’s menu and I can see why. First time ordering this but we enjoyed it so much! It’s like a Chinese version of roti prata, but crisper and fluffier, with more distinct flaky layers in between. Love that it wasn’t too oily, although you could see some oil seeped into the paper dolly on the plate. Best eaten when served but it also tasted great close to the end of our meal. I totally recommend this, and also recommend ordering a dish with sauce that you can use this to mop up. My vote goes to the eggplant with special sauce - the sauce pairs perfectly with this.

I guess if you miss Liang’s Sandwich at Bugis Junction, you can just come here instead.
