Culina at COMO Dempsey has newly launched their delivery and takeaway service, bringing gourmet dining to our doorsteps with meats from the French rotisserie, fine wines and more. Food was very good, travelled well, and Siew Yan said it's the place we should dine in next time.

We had a very good meal for three pax at less than $150. We had Crab Cakes ($26) that's full of real fresh chunks of crab meat, served with mâche, lemon, cocktail sauce; Ribeye ($50) perfectly medium rare with Chimichurri ($3) that refreshes the steak with it herbiness; Spaghettini ($34) with sweet spanner crab in spicy tomato sauce, with pasta perfectly al dente without being overcooked despite the travel; and a Charcuterie Platter ($32) that has all the cold cuts that I enjoyed.

They also have daily specials (such as beef wellington, rainbow trout and braised beef meatballs), a Homemade Pie Set (complete with sides, a savoury pie of your choice and dessert), or the Rotisserie Bird Set (which comes with a whole roasted lacto chicken, served with garlic puree, truffle potato mash, sautéed green beans, confit vine ripened tomato, red wine sauce and flourless chocolate cake) at $75 which are good for 2-3 persons each. The order of each set also entitles you to purchase select wine at a special price.

Making gourmet dining available everyday is the vision and mission of Culina Como Dempsey, and Head Chef @timmydare and his team has filled their Takeaway menu with many tempting options. Although the dishes sound similar to what you can get from many other establishments, do keep in mind that Culina is first and foremost, a gourmet market, focused on sourcing the best ingredients and produce from around the world. That should put the quality and taste of their food in perspective very quickly.
Naturally, when such fine ingredients form the fundamentals, preparation has to be done with great care to bring out the best in them. The culinary team does that with aplomb, as proven by my delivered meal.
Not many people know this but I really enjoy a good #NicoiseSalad and there is no doubt @culinacomodempsey’s ranks among the best I have eaten ($26). Love that they use big, chunky pieces of premium #OrtizTuna alongside crisp gem lettuce leaves, beans, olives, capers and a free-range egg. Dressing is served on the side so I could add how much I wanted.
From the Josper Grilled Meats section of the menu, I picked a slab of the Great Southern Pinnacle Grass-fed #Ribeye ($50). Weighing about 380gms, the steak was cooked to medium-rare perfection just like I requested, and was served with truffled potato galette and a lip-smacking red wine sauce. For those of you on a high protein diet, this would be such a fulfilling meal.
When I saw that the Rotisserie Bird Set (good for 2-3 persons) includes a whole Lacto Chicken, two sides and dessert for $75, I knew it had my name on it. How gratifying it turned out to be! The chicken was flawlessly cooked so every part of it was intensely juicy and full of flavour, even the breast. And the accompanying truffled mash (this smelled dizzyingly good), sautéed green beans and garlic purée were extremely delicious. Best of all, this set meal ended on a high note with Chef Timothy’s spectacular Flourless Chocolate Cake, an ooey-gooey heaven of fudginess topped with luscious cream and fresh raspberries.

Love them, I had my whole fridge filled their aroma on the day these were kept in the fridge. These became my healthy snack while I was working from home, I just ate them on its own.

#Jukhang - the sweetest and firmest of the lot, and larger than usual. Some acidity, but overall dominated by its sweetness.
#Vitaberry - The most acidic of the lot, but also filled with the most vitamin c. The acidity is balanced by the sweetness.
#Merryqueen - extremely juicy, not sour, and very sweet. My favourite of the four!
#Kingsberry - this is a huge strawberry, almost the size of the palm. It's the softest of the four, and has a strong aroma.

My favourite is the Merryqueen, followed by Jukhang! But they are all #PremiumKoreanStrawberry. Thanks @chefolivia @brandfitsg for these!

Thanks to @ChefOlivia, C.E.O. of @BrandFitSg, I received four kinds of Premium Korean Strawberries to taste. This bevy of beautiful berries, which are available for purchase at @CulinaComoDempsey, is indeed a resplendent sight but let’s zoom in to understand each of their unique characteristics so we can appreciate each one better.

Pictured clockwise from top left:

1. Kingsberry - Also known as “The Emperor of Strawberries”, this is the largest of the four. It has a sweet scent that is apparent from the first bite. The season for this strawberry is between December and April, and it originates in Non San, South Korea.

2. MerryQueen - Hailing from Dam Yang, South Korea is “The Queen of Strawberries”. Extreme juiciness is the crowning glory of this firm and sugary-sweet ruby-red beauty.

3. Jukhyang - If you seek the perfect strawberry, this Dam Yang stunner known as “The Royalty of Strawberries” could well be the answer. On top of having an ideal shape and larger-than-average size, it possesses a bold perfume and fresh sweetness.

4. Vitaberry - Those who are more health-conscious will appreciate the highest level of Vitamin C found in “The Idol of Strawberries”, a firm-fleshed, juicy specimen.

To enjoy, the fruit should be soaked for about a minute in cold water, then gently rinsed under running water.

I can never resist the salty goodness of cured meats. So much love for Parma ham 😍

Fish sandwich was great and great fries too.
My partner had a very authentic chicken salad too.
Good vibes and if u come on Sunday, come earlier like 11am to get plenty of parking lots.
