This is my first visit to Curious Palette and I’m loving the rustic-industrial vibes of this cafe. But what really won me over is the Prawn Mentaiko Belacan Pasta ($21.90) that comes with 3 charcoal grilled tiger prawns in tamarind glaze, sakura ebi and dollops of mentaiko. The sauce is rich, flavourful and packed with umami, and the al dente pasta soaks up all that goodness effortlessly. Such decadence!
Dropped by for some coffee and we ordered flat white ($4.90++) and mocha ($5.50++). Both coffees are great, I prefer the mocha slightly more ☺️ The staff was friendly too, he served us the coffee and said “I made a heart for you and a swan for you” 😄 We came at 2+pm on a weekday and the place was bustling with folks having brunch and desserts. Will be back to try their food!
The curious breakfast ($23.90) from @curiouspalette is sure to fill you up! It also comes with pulled pork which is an interesting addition to the standard breakfast sets commonly seen at cafes.
Visited curious palette a second time wanting to try more dishes! However, we visited at 9+am where only the breakfast items were served (lunch mains only start at 11+am), and the items to choose from were quite limited. Ended up getting the curious big breakfast ($26+ and pulled pork roast ($21.9++) I must say both dishes were super meatyyyy. The pulled pork was more of cooked Chinese style with shredded carrot and cabbage and sprinkled with fried shallots. I must say I have had nicer pulled pork roast elsewhere in the west 🤪 as for the curious big breakfast, it was a good choice because of the wide selection of items given -toast, baby potatoes, bacon, pulled pork, mushroom, egg, baked beans and salad. The curious big breakfast also seemed to be the popular choice for breakfast.
Might be a bit jelat after awhile but big portions and still nice Altho it kinda felt like mushroom soup in pasta
All the dishes on the photos are recommended!
The prices are a lil higher as compared to other cafes but definitely worth the try. Ambience is nice too.
Suggest to make a reservation to avoid disappointment (:
