And this turned out to melancholy true, as one of my favourite Da Jie Famous Wanton Noodles has called it quit. Suddenly. (It happened to a few of my fav stalls.)
Owner Linda decided that after 15 years of tolling, she wants to spend time living her life and travel with her Husband.

Good reminder for all of us as well, all the best Linda! Thank you for feeding us Wanton Mee lovers over the years. -

“To all my dearest supporters, I will be retiring after 15 years of hawker life. So extremely tired physically and mentally after working 15 hour each working day. I want to take this opportunity to catch up with my friends, relatives and family. We always think that we have time without realizing that we are losing time everyday. Time for my husband to fulfill his dream of travelling the world when he is still fit and able. Da Jie survived till today due to the tremendous support from all of you. I am so grateful to everyone for making my humble wanton noodles famous. And I thank each and everyone of you from the bottom of my heart.” #DFDNoodles

You know it's legit when they have official in their geotag. The Al dente noodles are super eggy and are fragrant after being tossed with a delicious sambal black sauce mix. Pile on the lard, forget the diet as this is the real stairway to heaven

I thought I would see a “Da Jie” (big Sister) there, but there are many brothers there instead.
For $3, there are many ingredients and I liked its crunchy pork lard. I thought it was good enough and won’t mind having this again. #DFDHawker #DFDNoodles

Majority of items in the menu here only cost $3! The mushroom is braised till soft and tender while the fried wonton is crispy. Noodle texture is okay, the sauce is black sauce mixed with chilli. Although not too spicy, non chilli eater may request for no chilli. It took awhile for the noodles to be ready. (PS: went at around 1.15pm and the char siew was sold out hence they offer to replace the char siew with mushroom instead...)

Mushroom Chicken Feet Noodle, at a mere $3.00 - springy noodles with a good bite to it, , immersed in tasty black sauce and my "more chilli" request. The chicken feet was palatable and most importantly, my earthly mushrooms were soft and aromatic.

The fried wantons are really crispy. Their char Siew have finished by the time I went there around 1pm, so they replaced with mushroom.
