Have you lost count of the number of hotpot sessions already?

Ikr?! We were surprised when served with this - a scoop of vanilla ice cream topped with peppercorn oil, and even a sprig of peppercorns. It was a combi that worked interestingly, with the sweet ice cream and slightly numbing aftertaste. It could even work with a touch more oil. They also have strawberry and grapefruit ice cream to choose from, but the lighter vanilla probably allows the peppercorn oil to be more distinct.

Loved this dessert! The strips of glutinous rice cake were served warm with a thin crispy crust. It was super soft with a slight chew. Also really liked that you get to control how much brown sugar syrup, sugar and crushed peanuts you’d like to pair the rice cakes with. It’s not at all too sweet nor greasy.

Got to try the Jasmine Tea ($4) and this Eight Treasures Tea that had a mix of red dates, goji berries, chrysanthemum, etc. Both were fragrant and pairs well with the steamboat to help calm the taste buds down from the spices 😂 Their in-house tea masters also showcase a short kung-fu tea art performance with each tea order.

I’m not a mutton fan but this was not bad without any stench.

Here’s one of the ready-to-eat side dishes that Da Miao offers, grilled shishamo in peppercorns, red chilli peppers, ginger and garlic. It leaned more to the sticky sweet side and had a pretty good kick of spice.
