I feel that this is the minimum standard for sashimi rice bowls. But to be honest, I think there are better options to try here at Daizu. You can easily get this from places like Tanuki Raw, Hinode Izakaya etc. Not sure why it didn’t cross my mind to order the other dishes, was kinda upset after eating this because the portion was so smol ($28 for ikura don aiyo).

Tldr; well executed dish but not worth trying

This was really tasty! It’s not like the usual carbonara which often tastes too heavy and you’ll get sick off halfway into the dish. It’s only slightly crispy and the aroma of garlic butter really comes through. Sadly, the portion size of this is really small, considering we paid $22 for it :(

7/10

A bit pricey, eggs Benedict is nice though.
I like this Japanese spin on eggs Benedict.
A small part of my bun was burnt which was a little off putting.

Thick Cut Salmon Sashimi Slice
They weren't kidding when they said thick cut cause I've never seen a restaurant served sashimi of this thickness and freshness at such affordable pricing too! At $12 for 5 pieces, this appetiser sets the stage for the upcoming mains we are about to have. The wasabi was adorably rolled into a round shape akin to playdough though it most certainly taste nothing like it. Definitely a must order when you're here!

Garlic Butter Sakura Ebi
Read much about this dish and am happy to report that it's worth the hype! Utterly fragrant and flavourful, the fresh prawns and sakura ebi gave much crunch to the bite, while the ikura and house specialty garlic butter sauce carpet bombs the bowl with umami. Just typing this alone is making me crave for it again.

These broccoli are still on my mind at 1am, because it is THAT good. Had never thought that broccoli can be so deliciously crisp, smacked with their homemade goma sauce. Reminds me of kale chips with a wokhey taste, and I love how it feels ~healthy~ too.

Best side dish that will make me come back here ($10)
