Checked out Dew in Bangsar twice and I’ve grown to like the place more each time. Dew is the sister cafe to neighbour Jaslyn Cakes and shares its space with a florist.

When I want desserts and not feeling too hungry, I’ll have something light and refreshing. The idea of having a citrus-based dessert comes into mind.

I had the Basil Lime Tart which is one of the more popular items here. Essentially it’s basil and lime curd in a crusty, buttery tart shell topped with basil mousse, meringue sticks and edible flowers.

Although there are mixed reviews about this particular dessert, I personally like it to the extent that I had it twice. The lime and basil curd brought out a zesty, tangy, fruity flavour and marks a refreshing change from the ubiquitous lemon curd used in tarte au citron. I’d say the basil mousse is like marmite (you either like it or you don’t). Biting into the mousse unleashes bursts of herbal basil flavour. It feels like you’re eating basil leaves.

I did try the other desserts as well and will share my thoughts in separate posts.

A new comer to the ever so dainty Dew dessert bar.. Strawberry and pistachio tart that has an interesting stark contrast of colours, textures and flavours too.. surprisingly it wasn’t too overly sweet but the pistachio flavour wasn’t really strong #afoodiesaffair #burpple #burpplekl #bangsareats #dewbangsar

Fine dessert experience. I like the creativity in all their dessert. Amazingly delicate in the decoration, and being mediculous in the taste. I enjoyed the desserts a lot. It complement my fine afternoon so well, it made me a happy person all day long. I am sorry I do not have the full name of desserts, but what we ordered are chocolate croissant, blueberry cheese cake, hazelnut nutty ..... dessert, and strawberry mint dessert. I love everything! Croissant was so crispy and smells so good. Hazelnut dessert were true on the flavor, with interesting texture of that soft cream, followed by slight chewy puff, and then crunchy nuts. I have the same heavenly feeling for that strawberry mint dessert. Lastly cheese cake, I am almost totally do not take cheese and milk, but this was light in taste, I could accept it. I love these so much. Price: RM19 for cakes, and RM8 for croissant, Food: 10/10

I have see quite a lot of good review about their cakes, so I decided to give a try. Last week I have actually visit them but unfortunately they sold out so fast. Today I come slightly early, the waiter introduce me their signature 100% chocolate cake. If you dont like too sweet chocolate cake, you can try this out. I love it so much because it is not so sweet , it just nice. Definitely will pay a visit to tried out other cakes next time .

Doesn't know I love hazelnut so much until I had this dessert from Dew that highly recommended by a friend.

A choux pastry with hazelnut praline, hazelnut mousseline, toasted hazelnut and sea salt. The nuttiness balance of flavourful burst on the palette. So good

Visually, it had an elegant and simple look. It’s made of a milky camembert cheese mousse, blueberry compote and a crunchy cornflake-cracker base. I reckon there could be more blueberry compote but still good for a light cheesecake.
