At $5 a pop, Din Tai Fung's Truffle Xiao Long Bao will set you back quite a bit but the aromatic earthiness was quite a hit. Well-worth a try, the umami combination was not too overpowering and paired with the classic thin dumpling skin was two thumbs up.

A great alternative to the standard yam buns, Din Tai Fung's Steamed Yam Dumplings are one of my favourite snacks. A must-order for me, the one-bite bundles are not too sweet or cloying. Filled generously with smooth yam paste, the skin of the dumplings are also really thin so it doesn't get too heavy or affect the texture of the paste.

Went at 6.10pm on Saturday, waitress told me expected waiting time is 30minutes. Ended up waiting twice the time. Waited for an hour. Not worth the wait.

I love the texture of the yam paste and sweetness is just nice, but surely the skin can do with a bit less flour. For those orh nee lovers out there (or even if you are not), you will be hooked onto this. Yammilicious 😋

Craving for Din Tai Fung...

No meal at Din Tai Fung is complete without their signature appetisers and one that is not to be missed is their Oriental Salad with Special Vinegar Dressing (Xiao Cai). A must-have at our table. Sparking your appetite with a mix of finely sliced beancurd strips, rice vermicelli, bean sprouts, seaweed and chilli; the hit of tang and heat from the asian seasoning is also boosted with fragrance of sesame oil.
