Reviews of good food at Din Tai Fung (Suntec City)

After queueing some time we loaded the table with Dumplings, not to be disappointed by our Taiwanese friends!

Steamed Yam Paste Dumplings โ€” one of my favourite things to order at Din Tai Fung.

Things hardly go wrong for such items, and this was decent tasting with plump and fresh shrimp scattered over the pancake that is somewhat similar to fried beancurd stuffed with fillings. Only gripe about this is how greasy it was; it left the lips smacking with oil after just a strip.

Ordered this thinking that they were going to be a little bit like Chili Crab buns but didn't really came as expected. The crab fibers seemed to have been bound by a huge pork patty so you could actually taste a little bit of crustacean flavour in there, though largely still dominant of the pork filling in terms of taste that is just lightly marinated in chili crab gravy wrapped within the fluffy bun. Really thought it would be a wee bit better if they could probably stuff more gravy into the bun for an increased shiok factor.

This feels very loosely based on Peking Duck somehow, replacing the crepe with a spring roll esque skin and the cucumber with spring onion leaves. This combination surprisingly works, with different dimensions of savoury flavours from both the pastry and the duck to come as one. The only qualm was that somehow it is rather impossible to eat both elements at one go; the duck tends to slip in the mouth first while you are still chewing off half the pastry ...

This is a variation of the famous Steamed Pork Dumplings with the addition of crab meat. Please read my review at

The beef brisket is so tender and the noodles are springy, as it is freshly made. Please read my review at

It tastes nothing like duck, it tastes like bacon instead. Please read my review at

This is great as a starter because it is light and not too sour. Please read my full review at

It's been some time we haven't indulge in DinTaiFung Singapore. The last time we had was in Taiwan and they have superb customer service topped with delicious delicacies. Now, it's dinner time.

And yesterday after Lo hei, we were served all the signature dishes in Din Tai Fung! Thank you!
โžŠ [Red Dates with Glutinous Rice] - my first time trying, it's sweet, but it's an appetizer. Red dates with Mochi in the centre.
โž‹ [Roselle Drink]

โžŒ [Fragrant Pork with Crushed Garlic] - a little spicy but it's fragrance left me wanting more. First time trying this too! Pork is the chewy kind, which is quite special, with crunchy cucumber wrapped in the middle.
โž [Oriental Salad in Special Vinegar Dressing]

โžŽ [Steamed Pork Dumplings]

โž [Stir-fried Dou Miao with Garlic]
โž [Prawn Pancake]

โž‘ [้…ธ่พฃๆฑค]
