Toasted Banana Bread

Overrated af and overpriced. I didn't think the banana bread was impressive in any way, it's moist and slightly different from normal but not anywhere deserving of 15bucks. The yoghurt cream was no substitute for normal cream and doesn't mesh well with the banana bread either. Underwhelmed after wanting to try this for 5 years

Toasted Banana Bread ($15++)
The first thing that hit me was oof sour. The citrus and house-made yoghurt was really tangy, and although I'm not too sure if I like this flavour addition, it did help to provide some balance with the sweet banana bread and the really sweet sticky date pudding we had before. The banana bread was moist though, and there's macadamia nuts topping for added flavour. Was actually surprised the caramalised banana wasn't sweet at all tho.

Overall Rating: 7/10

This was a lovely way to end our meal. The banana bread was warm and moist, paired excellently with the crunchy macadamia nuts and caramelised banana slices. Perfect for the sweet tooth’s out there.

A pricey dessert, but worth a try at least once - you’re really paying for the quality.

It seems like this dessert was really popular. A savoury banana cake topped with banana cuts and nuts. Appetite for after meal. $15++

Banana bread, caramelised bananas, macadamia nuts and housemade vanilla yogurt.

I used to loveeee this. I don’t think the taste has changed but maybe mine has. The banana bread goes well with the yogurt and butterscotch-like sauce. It taste good when you get all the components together in every bite, with the nuts providing a nice crunch.

However, I would not say the banana bread itself is a good one. On its own it’s actually quite bland and not banana-ey enough. But the dish as a whole works and it’s a good dish. I just don’t see myself paying $17.65 nett for it again. I’d rather get their sticky date pudding.

Get this toasted banana bread ($15++) and red berries milkshake ($10++) from the lokal! The banana bread was a dense cake, with macademia nuts, caramelised bananas and drenched in a yoghurt sauce! Was recommended for the toasted banana bread so decided to give it a try. Definitely something to go for if you like banana bread. The homemade vanilla yogurt, the orange and lime zest gives a sense of sourness to the dish, so it is not overly sweet after all. I like the toasted macadamia nuts on top which adds more flavour and a bit of crunchiness to the whole dish. The flat white ($5) with soy milk ($1) is good too - it is just right and not too bitter for my liking.
