Signature Kueh Pie Tee

$18.00 · 2 Reviews

INDOCAFE does these little bite-sized canapés brilliantly with a contrast of textures between their freshly made crispy ‘top hat’ pastry cups and the wonderful moist filling of sweet jicama (turnips) having been steeped and stir-fried in excellent prawn and crab stock. A great choice for a main dish if you’re on a diet or just wish to eat light.

Though there might be hits and misses with their authentic Peranakan cuisine and some fusion dishes, let’s look at two particular items in the menu that are the standouts for me. First up is the Babi Panggang, grilled pork skewers that has a slight charred on them and when paired with their signature spicy tangy sauce, a perfect tag team partnership. Think of it as a crossover of our popular satay and the Thai-style Moo Ping. Next up is their Signature Kueh Pie Tee, which if you haven’t tried it before, are small pastry cups filled with shredded turnips with mushroom, prawns, diced beancurds and topped with some chilli.
