A must-order appetiser

Cicheti’s burratina is an explosion of flavours that definitely whets any appetite. The burratina tastes fresh and it goes well with the sweet and savoury mix of pesto and onion marmalade.

I didn’t know this appetiser came with bread so don’t make the mistake I made which was to order more bread initially! Hahaha.

This starter is perhaps the most highly raved dish from Cicheti - it certainly lives up to the hype, and embodies the heart of Italian cuisine. Burratina ($24++) features a sphere of burrata, its mozzarella shell giving way to creamy goodness. The cheese is delicate and fragrant, pairing well with the toasted sourdough. It was complemented by savoury pesto and sweet onion jam, with a hint of saltiness from the pistachio topping! Would love to have a larger portion, but the quality of each component far surpassed my expectations 🌟 Cicheti also boasts of an extensive wine collection - we particularly liked their Italian Merlot!

If you are a cheese lover, this is your definite order. I love the combinations of all the cheese in one perfectly toasted pizza dough. The dough was so perfect that I had 2 slices of this! Omg, so much of carbs loading tonight!

This is a must order in very single Italian restaurant that I patronise! The dough was done perfectly, the tomato was damn fresh and but the cheese is little disappointing wished it could be stronger in its flavor.

Great recommendation from the server! I love how deeply fried of the flower zucchini with that stuffed bufala cheese, it definitely not too heavy as a starter. I was really surprise that after being battered and deep fried, the vegetable was not even soggy at all its crunch of that zucchini remain with every cut and bite! The stuffed bufala cheese did not over powered the taste of zucchini too, it was very subtle and distinctly sweet mildly cheese literally oozing out of that zucchini’s head. It was pretty yummy I must say!

Burrata served with onion marmalade, topped with toasted pistachio and pesto was truly a great combination! I love the crusty bread with that crunchy crust sounds as you bite into it, it was pure awesomeness! However, I wish the burrata could be richer with that umami cheese taste.

Loved this dish! Never had burrata served with onion marmalade, truly an awesome combination! Pesto was so so good as well! I find myself scooping the burrata and adding copious amount of onion marmalade and pesto with each mouthful. Divine with the crusty bread and a sip of pinot grigio

The must-have every time I visit Cicheti. This time it didn't come with grilled pear, but the star really was that tender ball of mozzarella and cream. I liked how Cicheti deviated from the usual way of serving burrata (ie with prosciutto, vine tomatoes and rocket). Though I sometimes miss the vine tomatoes, I felt that the myriad of flavours and textures from the toasted pistachios, pesto and onion marmalade in Cicheti's version tasted better. Also, there was nothing better than a magic carpet ride on the smoky grilled crostini for my fave cheese.

That white ball of air-flown Burratina is a mass of pure indulgence being indecently creamy and lava-like in the middle. Nothing frames it better than a dash of balsamic vinegar, savoury Beretta parma ham, fresh arugula and sugary sweet baby tomatoes. Pile the lot on the crunchy pieces of toast and get ready to take a bite of heaven.
