Earl Grey Swiss Roll

$5.90 · 40 Reviews

This cute floral-themed cafe in Serangoon fills up fast so come at odd hours to snag a seat. Tea-fanatics, you'll love the fragrant and not-too-sweet Earl Grey Swiss Roll ($5.90) or the Thai Milk Tea Swiss Roll ($5.90) that uses a tea mix from Thailand. Burppler Julius Lim recommends pairing your swiss roll with coffee (with #BurppleBeyond 1-for-1 deal, get two sets with coffee for the price of one!).

Head over to Serangoon for a treat of fluffy and light swiss rolls at this quaint shophouse – great for intimate catchups or chill reading teatimes. Popular flavours include the earthy Earl Grey ($5.90) and delightful Blueberry Yogurt ($6.90). Pair that with a cuppa Iced Latte ($6.50), and your afternoon is made.

After reading some reviews, thought it would be good to try. Honestly was a little disappointing as the earl grey taste was not strong enough and halfway through, it felt jelak due to the cream. Plus point is it wasn’t too sweet.
Not recommended.

I never expect to find such a cosy cafe around the neighbourhood in Serangoon! I’m impressed. The cafe felt a little like home and ambience was not too bad. First time visiting and I tried the Earl Grey Swiss Roll. I think it would be better to share this because they are really generous with the cream but it felt jelat/jelak to have to finish it by myself. Had one piece of the Swiss Roll with Chai Tea Latte. Having tried the one at Starbucks, this chai tea doesn’t offer the spiciness to it. It felt more milky but the aroma is not too bad!

To be honest, was quite disappointed! The roll was light and fluffy, but the earl grey flavour was very faint and the cream tasted quite synthetic. I think Chaterase cream rolls taste way better at half the price.

$5.50 each.
Thought the fluffiness of the cake is still good but different (not as good as) when they first started. Still in awe of how they survived two years selling just Swiss rolls. We had the Original and Strawberry Yogurt. Would recommend the Earl Grey and Thai Milk Tea kf you're a tea person.

Trying out matcha and earl grey flavours this time. And you know halloween is coming with those lil cutie ghosts! 🎃 👻 -

Had earl grey swiss roll and flat white here. The sponge cake part of the swiss roll is a bit firm but it goes well with the cream and comes with pretty strong earl grey flavour. The cream is pretty soft and you dont feel too filling after having it. The flat white is fine.

My only gripe is that one isn’t enough, but buying two means it’ll cost $11.80.
P.S. people have complained that it can hard to find seats here. I went at 2pm and had the whole cafe to myself. Really. So best to go at odd hours.
