No stranger to the Indian food scene is this popular vegetarian spot known for their wholesome and value-for-money thali sets. Perfect for lunch is the Ganga G-Light (from RM8) featuring choices of brown rice or chapati, served alongside two vegetable dishes of the day, dhal, papadom and a salad. Early-risers should come for breakfast and break into the crispy Rawa Thosai (RM3.20) which Burppler R D says is served with "mindblowingly delicious" curries and chutneys.

Opted for the thali for lunch.
They have 2 sizes: small (with 3 veges) and standard (with 4 veges). You can choose between chapati or rice. The curry wasn’t spicy enough for me, might be ok for those with lower tolerance for spiciness. I had it with chapati and the portion was just right for me. If you have a big appetite, this isn’t the thing for you.
The small is RM8 while the standard is RM11.
Making a solid appearance in yet another guide is Lorong Kurau's Ganga Cafe. This cosy abode is home to our favourite Indian vegetarian eats, made with organic produce fresh from the restaurant's own backyard. Mark this down for early eats with good company — note that space isn't a luxury here, so keep the group small. Served with brown rice, three vegetables, two dhals, papadam and a salad, the Ganga Standard Thali (RM9.90) makes a simple, self-contained choice for lunch. Tastemaker Nicholas has nothing but praise for the sauces, "all strongly flavoured but delicate, and taste so good you don't realise there's no meat involved at all." Rice aside, the menu offers excellent breads too. The Chapati (RM1) is a favourite, cooked to a beautiful tan with crusty edges — great to sop up creamy dhal with! For fans of the revered butter chicken, their Paneer Butter Masala (RM17) with cottage cheese will make a delicious meat-free alternative.

Located in the depths of Bangsar, Ganga cafe offers a wide range of Indian vegetarian food, from naans, chapati and roti, to traditional Indian street food such as Pav Bhaji and Indian sweets like Halwa and Lassi. However, this hidden gem is better known by the locals around the area for their Sunday brunch buffet!! Starting at RM25, the restaurant offers a wide range of food in their buffet, such as several different types of curries, chapatis, rice, salad, masala chai, pakora and a lot more!! Be sure to come early if you wanna beat the morning Sunday crowd and do ask the lady boss for what's good for the day if you plan on visiting them any other day of the week!!
Ordered pranic juice (rm10), is like a must to people who first visit.
Ordered chapati, cheese naan and garlic naan and also paneer butter masala (rm17), baigan ka bhurta (rm14) and mushroom curry to paired with it! Would recommend the first two I find it is real good to pair with the naan!
I think I will back for thali set next round :9
Down the street from Baba Low's is yet another gem in Bangsar for budget eats. At Ganga Cafe, breakfast is king, so bring a few friends for the morning feast! Whether it's chappati, thosai or roti canai that tickles your fancy — all are good —, amp it up with the Thali Set (RM7.50 including the bread). It gets you a colourful myriad of vegetables and dhal or chutney of the day, making it a balanced and fulfilling breakfast. Also worth ordering to share is a popular Mumbai snack, Chana Bhatura (RM6), which features fluffy, deep-fried leavened bread with masala-style chickpeas. If the acute flavours of Indian spices aren't enough to wake you, the invigorating Special Masala Tea (RM4) made with fresh cow's milk upon order should.

The Ganga serve Chappati alone or with Set (with dhal). At first, we just ordered the Chappati alone, then the waiter said "How you guys gonna eat that? You suppose to eat it with some veg." then he "upgraded" our food into Chappati Set. I prefer eat the Chappati alone, but we give it a try with the dhal. And it's quiet spicy! Overall, it's a decent Chappati and thumbs up for their great service! Anyway, if you ever come visit, please try their specialties "Ganga tea Crush" (not in the pict). It's consist of mint, lime, and lemon, crush together with tea. Very refreshing drink!
