Scotch Egg

Firstly, I feel this is kinda unique cause I haven't had anything like this before. Secondly, it was not only pleasant to the eyes but also its taste! It is encased in an exterior of crispy minced meat and the inner was like a molten runny egg. Simply delicious!

Eggs for breakfast, eggs for lunch, eggs for dinner, I could eat these any time of day with their molten, limpid yolks swathed in a porky, breaded meat shell. The tart cabbage slaw was the bomb too.

Taste: 3.5/5

The steak here is succulent, luscious and its own rendered juice is still dripping as I gorge voraciously on it. The poor crispy potato ends up being the neglected sibling while the elder brother basks in his glory. A definite must try besides their scotch egg.

Apart from being photogenic, this egg-porn dish tastes as good as it looks! Slightly crunchy on the outside (breaded with minced sausage) and soft on the inside. The yolk was slightly runny when I sliced it into half! It's also served on a bed of red cabbage coleslaw. Could improve on coleslaw dressing though.

In this case, the chefs at By The Fire use a soft boiled egg instead of the traditional hard boiled egg and coat it in sausage meat and bread crumbs before frying it. The result is a delicate and luscious scotch egg comfortably nestled in juicy, tender meat which makes it a truly scrumptious appetizer

Enjoyed the combo, together with the hanger steak. The scotch eggs are incredibly popular and runs out fast. Enjoyed how the pasta is done, generous portions of olive oil, garlic & Sakura ebi. Will come back again!

Make your way there now before the crowds do. Wanted to drop by for the scotch eggs but they'd sold out by dinnertime. Everything was delicious - our only gripe was that the pork cheek was too bland. Crispy skin, shredded so easily, but very lacking in any flavour.

My favourite is still the scotch egg ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿป #bythefire #8dayseat #burpple #eatoutsg #instafoodsg
