Signature Mille Crêpes and Green Tea Mille Crêpes

Handmade crêpes layered with ethereal light pastry cream. We ate it layer by layer to truly enjoy this delicate dessert. Both flavours are equally amazing. I personally prefer the green tea as the slight bitterness of the green tea powder balance out the sweetness of the cake.

Sophisticated white decor and beautiful marble walls, the New York cake boutique is aesthetic and befitting of its elegant name. It was our first time there and it took us awhile to pick our cakes as we were spoilt for choice. Eventually, we decided on the signature mille crepes, green tea mille crepes and the gateau au chocolat. My favourite of the trio has got to be the signature mille crepe, a delicate cake built with layers of thin buttery crepe and sinful cream that was light and not overly sweet. The green tea version also had that same fragrant eggy flavours to it with a twist of green tea fusion. However, I felt that it was a bit too sweet and I wished the distinct bitterness of the tea shone through more. As for the last cake, it was dense and rich in indulgent chocolate with slices of nuts to give it that extra texture. Topped with smooth chocolate glaze to complete its look, it is one really good chocolate cake indeed. I look forward to trying their other flavours in the future, especially the earl grey mille crepe, an exclusive at the South Beach outlet. I find their special flavours every month an interesting and fun concept as well.
