Lavender Latte

$5.50 · 59 Reviews

Adjourned to The Bravery after dinner at Easy Noodles Bar, which is just a 9 minute walk away. We arrived around 8.50pm, slightly before the last order timing of 9pm. Thankfully there was quite a good choice of dessert cakes (although when I tried to order the all day breakfast pancake stack, we were informed that they were sold out since morning). To go along with our cake, I went for the hot lavender latte ($5.50) as it was a unique drink.

Presentation of the drink is lovely. Served atop a custom wooden tray, the lavender latte is served warm - just the right temperature for immediate consumption. The latte art was a bit shabbily done, but the lavender flowers covered it up. The contrast of the tiny lavender petals against the brown-white latte foam was gorgeous.

The lavender and coffee aromas mingled with each other - emitting a really comforting and relaxing scent. The coffee wasn’t too acidic or bitter, however, I felt I couldn’t taste much of the lavender flavour with each sip. For a pretty and unique drink, this would be a good choice. But if you want something with a stronger lavender taste, opt for the Lavender Cold Brew instead.

Seems like medicine bottles are the in-thing for beverage packaging now. The Bravery has quite a few of these cold bottled beverages available in their fridge, and you can see rows of empty bottles lining the shelves behind the counter.

One of the unique bottled drinks available at The Bravery is the Lavender Cold Brew, so we ordered one to try. The beverage is pleasantly scented with lavender, and I actually couldn’t smell much coffee in it when I opened the stopper. It tastes more of lavender than coffee, and it’s a very smooth and calming beverage (I don’t think this will work as a perk me up - actually who came up with the combination of lavender and coffee is beyond me. Sounds like an oxymoron.). I guess it depends on your tastebuds, but someone in our dining party commented it tasted like medicine (not sure if it’s because the medicine bottle packaging already placed the idea in her mind) and was put off by it. I ended up drinking most of this, and actually preferred it over the Hot Lavender Latte. The cold brew is really infused with lavender, which is evident from the lavender flowers at the base of the drink. I would order this again, or try the other cold brews on a return visit.

Jot this cosy Horne Road nook down for brunch or a java or two on work-from-anywhere days. Complete with cosy lighting and chill vibes, you're bound to feel at home here. The generously portioned and wholesome Bagel Salmon Set ($14.50) and the warm and fluffy Pancakes Stack ($15.50) are worthy runs for your buck. Give the fragrant and slightly savoury Lavender Latte ($5.50) a whirl – you won't regret it.

Interesting coffee with strong hint of lavender. Food was good. Will be worth another visit for other dishes in the menu.

No fanciful names; prep as what was stated on the menu. That's as good as it gets.

This cafe feela like st. Ali in Melbourne and it's a definitely have-to-go, because of their huge ass sandwich. And lavender latte 😉 the space isn't so spacious, but they do have a common table for those who wants to clear their work on their laptop.

The food portions are pretty generous, to the point that I've to pack half of it home. The lavender latte did not emphasise the lavender much enough but it isn't a bad coffee after all.

Lavender latte ($5.5)-nice fragrence, really creamy, has a somewhat savory touch to it.
