The most impressed is half of the clamโ€™s shell was removed before cooking and each clam is big, plump and juicy.

The garlic and chilli combination is simple, but this marriage is made perfect with the breath of the wok (wok hei). Finger lickin good!

Yummy, yummy, yummy! Umami, umami, umami!

Very fragrant, very fresh lala, best eaten with a bowl of hot Jasmine rice. Everyone loved this dish alot, except my sister, because she just dislikes lala generally.

Bad news, I thought I could use this dish to convince my little sister to try liking lala. Failed.
Good news, I still have more lala to eat at family dinners!

Plump lala stir-fried with lots of garlic and chili padi (S$22, medium).

Wasnโ€™t a fan of lala until today!

I havenโ€™t been fond of clams. I attribute the dislike to an unfortunate encounter of a time I had some bad clams. However, one of JB Ah Mengโ€™s most popular dishes include the famous fried garlic chili clams ($16++, strangely, service charge is only 1%). I tried it, and was blown away.

Firstly, I donโ€™t recall seeing such large clams elsewhere in this quantity. Secondly, the spicy garlic sauce is to die for. It is dangerously addictive. It didnโ€™t take long for me to form a mountain of empty clamshells! Not an ordinary sight coming from someone who feared clams.

Best part is they crack the shells here for you so itโ€™s easy to just eat them
