French Toast

Among all of the cafes that opened within this few years, Podgy actually doing quite well around the neighborhood. The cafe always full house early in the morning, guess most of the people know that they are serving good food and coffee. Their French toast (RM15) with Nutella with banana and strawberries on top is one of my favourite. Not too heavy to start a day, portion might be not enough but for a normal girl I think it should be just fine. Scrambled Eggs (RM15) with salmon on toast, some mushrooms and tomatoes. Simple and nice. Their coffee is legit one. Definitely a good cuppa for you to start the day. A good place for you to get your works done. Wifi is provided and there are plenty of plugs.

Tried Podgy and the Banker for the very first time last week. Omelette and bruschetta was fine, nothing to shout about but on the other hand, the french toast was incredibly scrumptious! Coffee was a tad bit bitter to my liking though.

This cafe will soon celebrate its first year anniversary, and is part of what buffered my return from Melbourne after six years. Podgy & The Banker is fondly named after its lead barista Neil Ng and his banker friends and is one of KL's most celebrated (and lovingly Instagrammed) third wave cafes. Home to consistent, good brews, simple, hearty food (personal favourites are the chicken avocado sandwich, omelette and French toast) and an abundance of natural light, it's no wonder why cafe enthusiasts and avid Instagrammers keep coming back. The interior has what I call "elements that remind me of my favourite cafes in Melbourne" and they stock the meanest bakes from MAD Treats (try the Happy Toast on weekends) - so while I loathe the lack of sound (and heat) insulation, P+TB gets away with murder because of its charm that hasn't quite faded since they first opened doors.

Great first impression. Nice and classy exterior. Friendly cashier. Place was mostly occupied by 2pm. The food was alright. The chicken wrap in BBQ sauce was good. But too small portion for it's price. And in the menu, it was stated as PITA bread but I got a wrap instead. Coffee comes with standard double espresso shot. Had latte and cappuccino. Not really nice and not special. It didn't hit my coffee spot. Nutella or banana French toast. Add RM 3 for both. Again, expensive. Honey or maple syrup was missing. Not enough eggs for the French toast. Didn't try the cakes because they are from lids and finch. Which I've tried before and is good. Rate: 6/10 for food; 5/10 for price.
