Signature 'Sen Lao' Hor Fun

$6.00 · 6 Reviews

This ought to be the fail-safe solution for when Keng Eng Kee at Alexandra is fully booked. On any given weekday night, you would easily walk past Hong Kong Street Chun Kee without a thought — just another brightly lit, zi char spot in the Queenstown area. But come Sunday evenings, the entire coffeeshop is packed with regulars and residents staying nearby. Order any of the fourteen featured dishes plastered on top of the cooking area and you’ll be set for a satisfying dinner with your crew. The key to success here is a giant order of many things — of which the Signature ‘Sen Lao’ Hor Fun (from $6) that appears on every table in multiples is a must. The dish might look pale, but it packs a surprisingly strong and satisfying amount of wok hei. Other noteworthies include the well-executed Cereal Prawn (from $20) that features juicy, plump prawns buried in a heaping pile of moreish fried cereal bits. You’ll walk out stuffed and happy and not much poorer for it.

Stir fried white flat rice noodles that oozes so much 'Wok Hei' and goes so well with the bean sprouts and sliced fish.

it just take this extra flair and gusto to whip up a fantastic plate of 三捞河粉. and 珍記 at alexandra is one. when late night dinner can't be helped, 三捞 of just slice fish and chinese bean sprouts prolly lets you enjoy "zi char" lesser the guilt
