For the next night out with the gang, suggest pizza and wine at this swanky two-storey restaurant in APW Bangsar. Proof offers both 8inch and 12inch pizzas in delicious flavours like the popular Umbrian Black Truffle Pizza (from RM32) with black truffle paste. One of the few spots in town to fire pizzas with pork, the Carne (RM33) loaded with salami, pancetta and lamb is made for carnivores. Pizza this good should be paired with a drink, and the friendly team are more than wiling to help recommend wines (by the bottle or glass) that go best with your pie. Planning dinner with the gang? There's no better way to amp up your night out than with an Italian feast! This two-storey pizza joint might look small but the dining booths upstairs are good to fit six to eight comfortably. Dive straight for the crowd-favourite Umbrian Black Truffle Pizza (RM38.60) drizzled in aromatic truffle oil, and end your meal with a good bottle of wine from the beautiful floor-to-ceiling rack. You can also cop pasta dishes from next-door sister restaurant Grano Pasta Bar. We vote for the spicy Creste De Gallo Lisce (RM34.90).

Heard a lot of positive review for this wood fire pizza restaurant in APW. I would say the visit is pleasent.

Stepping in this modern industrial style restaurant, the first thing that draw my attention is the wine rack that made from the old component from the previous commercial printing factory.

With the two wood fire oven in Proof, it served up a variety of pizza from basic margherita to pork sausage or even the signature Umbrian black truffle pizza.

The Umbrian black truffle pizza topped with mixed mushroom, black truffle paste and taleggio. The richness of the black truffle and the soft taleggio cheese on top of the crunchy soft pizza dough. Ouch so good 🍕

"Pizza makes me think that anything is possible."- Henry Rollins. Proof is the place to be for great gourmet pizzas and creative combinations that tantalise. The metal racks on the walls are filled with bottles and bottles of wines and the exposed kitchen lets you see a woodfire oven and an artist at work. It's a rather warm and homey feeling. You can bring your own bottle for RM50. Their menu is simple but we were told it will soon feature more in the coming months! For this visit, we opted for their eight-inch Umbrian Black Truffle Pizza (RM32). The decision didn't disappoint as the first bite of the pizza nearly brought us tears of joy. The crust is crunchy-thin yet soft and fluffy on the inside, while a robust truffle paste smeared on the dough was layered with soft tallegio cheese. The combination brings out creamy richness, along with shaved truffles on top. We fell helplessly in love with this pizza! It will be excellent with Italian Amarone or Sangiovese-based wines.

Located at the trendy APW Bangsar, Proof offers really good pizza made from wood-fire ovens. Order the Margherita for something classic, Diavola for meat lovers & Umbrian black truffle pizza for an intense cheese experience. Pair your pizza with wines from the affordable menu. We really enjoyed our night here!

As a calm and collected chef Meg helms the open kitchen, two flaming woodfired ovens warm up the new pizzeria in APW. Decked in floor-to-ceiling wine shelves, this small two-storey space straddles class with laidback vibes for an indulgent night out, minus the steep prices. Bring your friends and swoon over the good pizzas and swigs of wine. The classic Margherita (from RM19) is great to start with, relying on the classic flavours of rich mozzarella and their house blend tomato sauce to deliver. Next, go gourmet with the Spicy Calabrian Pizza (from RM26), which offers a burst of flavour with spicy, saltish nduja sausage. In between slices, be sure to order a drink — wines are available either by glass, karafe or bottle. Then behold, the perfect finale: Umbrian Black Truffle Pizza (from RM32), a clever combination of mixed mushrooms, black truffle paste and tallegio cheese. While it is an exquisite experience that we recommend, the supremely rich flavours can be overwhelming — order only if you adore cheese and truffle!

Three reasons why I like this place:

1. It’s a one-(wo)man run pizza shop
2. Fresh doughs are ‘proof’ed for two days before being wood-fired so you know it’s gon’ be good
3. Proof is committed to using fresh produce daily, and offers both traditional options as well as some pretty inventive takes on ol’ school pizza
4. Wine, great tunes, pizza

Okay those are 4 reasons, but this new kid on the block will defo knock your socks off. My pick is the trusty 8” classic margherita, with house blend tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil and cherry tomatoes (RM19) so you really should be ordering that. But if you’re feeling adventurous, the Umbrian Black Truffle Pizza (8”, RM32) with mixed mushrooms, black truffle paste and taleggio is a seriously good pizza too. There’s no holding back on the truffle and cheese in this pizza. Finally, something tasty at APW’s Paper Plates.
