It really feels good digging in to a good bowl ramen that goes for $10. The broth is well flavored with a good spicy kick. The ramen was thick and yellow, fitting for the local taste. Perfect for a quick satisfying lunch. Pro-tip: order the takeaway and enjoy it at the food court next door and save the 10% service charge.

Ramen lovers, you'll want to add this to your rotation. Located in the basement of Marina Bay Sands, Ippudo's first quick service outlet, Kuro-Obi, allows you to have your ramen to go. This means no service charge added to the bill, prices are kept under $12, and you can have piping hot ramen by the Singapore River while overlooking the city skyline in the night. It's also great as a quick solo lunch option โ€” orders are made on the spot, and everything is done in just under six minutes. Unlike the famed pork broth used in Ippudo, Kuro-Obi's specialty is their tori-paitan, a silky rich chicken broth that goes perfectly with their tender chicken thigh chashu. There are four flavours available, Kuro-Obi (original), Aka-Obi (spicy shrimp), Cha-Obi (veggie shoyu) and Shiro-Obi (classic). The Aka-Obi ($10) that is loaded with a scoop of spicy shrimps (hae bi hiam) and a drizzle of chili oil gives the ramen just the right amount of kick. Note that not all flavours come with the chicken chashu or Ippudo's famed umami egg, so be sure to have them as add-ons!
Avg Price: $15 per person

A localized version of their ramen, this one has haebi added into it! Throughly yummy, it's very tasty and not too spicy either. ๐Ÿœ

But do take note that this bowl doesn't come with char siew or any egg, so it will feel quite sparse if you're the type of diner that needs "liao" in their meals.

A new take-away counter by Ippudo located at MBS is serving up super yummy bowls of ramen โ€“ all made and accompanied with chicken only! ๐Ÿ“

Their signature, the Kuro-Obi features a collagen-rich soup and chicken thigh char siew. While thick, the soup was so easy to just slurp down and the chicken was tender and the taste reminded me of those cold chicken appetizers! ๐Ÿ˜›

The Aka-Obi was similarly tasty, especially so with the added haebi although it does feel lacking in the ingredient department (no char siew or egg). Definitely gonna pop by again if I'm in the area. Too bad they missed on the Pokemon Go crowd when it was huge! ๐Ÿ˜‚
