Lemon Meringue Tart

RM12.00 · 4 Reviews

Fuel up with healthy grub at this tropical-themed cafe in Plaza Damas. Dive straight into the protein-heavy options like the five-spice Roast Chicken Leg (RM25) or the Spanish Omelette (RM18) made with three eggs. Burppler Sunita S favours the Poke Bowl's (RM24) simple flavous with fresh salmon sashimi and brown rice. Satiate your sweet tooth with one of their guilt-free desserts — Burppler Jesuis Enamourez recommends the Lemon Tart (RM13) which she declares to be the best in town!

Rubberduck serves one of the best lemon tart in town and the best part is I get to savour them in little bite size from their afternoon tea set. The set features nine kinds of sweet & savoury pastries from curry puff, mini leek quiche, tuna sandwich, sour cream and smoked salmon on homemade sesame biscuit, mini chocolate eclair, scones, matcha macaron to passion fruit pannacota as well as comes with a pot of Tea Bird Organic Tea of your choice. I would say the quality of the afternoon tea set was pretty good asides that they serve their scone with butter instead of clotted cream. RM60 per person.

In a hidden corner of Plaza Damas sits Rubberduck, a cafe worth tracking down for great bakes and breakfasts. The alfresco area is spotlighted by a pink neon sign and a coconut tree on the wall that provides pop-meets-tropical vibes as you people-watch — perfect for a restorative day of alone time. There is healthy breakfast — smoothie bowls and granolas — for the early risers and yummy sweet treats for teatime. Freshly baked daily, their Madeleines (RM3) may be one of KL's best attempts at the French tea cake. Have these petite, buttery pillows with a cup of tea or coffee. The luscious-looking Carrot Cake (RM9) and Beetroot Chocolate Cake (RM10) are moist, tasty and great contenders too. Although we are devoted fans, the cakes are second to their real crowd-favourite, the Lemon Meringue Tart (RM12). Take time to savour the sweet, airy meringue and zesty lemon curd in its crumbly tart shell.
Avg price per person: RM20

Aside from no lemon flavor in Pistachio Lemon Cake, overall was not bad. Came to try their croissant for today's Croissant Hop but too bad it was unavailable.
