For $9.90, I chose the mentaiko salmon with soba and topped it with salmon roe (+$2). Upsized it with a $2.50 set that came with hot tea and salmon miso soup. The salmon was freshly seared and coated with a generous amount of slightly charred mentaiko (codfish roe) sauce. Paired with the soba noodles, it was a healthy and hearty bowl of goodness. Not forgetting to mention that the miso soup had chunks of salmon meat in it too!

5 slices of salmon mentaiko sitting on a bed of lettuce, adorned with 4 pieces of cherry tomato. Love the salmon, nicely seared with the mentaiko, which was not too overpowering too. Though I felt the bowl was quite lacking in variety - literally just those ingredients in the exact quantity as mentioned above.

Affordable and tasty Japanese food (especially so for salmon lovers). The salmon here was decently sized and went well with the base and sides. Overall it made for a satisfying meal. Add ons: avocado and prawn roe!

One of my top favorite places to get my salmon cravings fix is none other than Salmon Samurai. Tucked nicely in the CBD area of the Tanjong Pagar vicinity, within walking distance to the mrt station. The yuzu brown rice paired with the mentaiko salmon hits the spot for me. I love how the rice was soft and supple with a hint of yuzu, paired with mentaiko salmon that was a good portion for me. I added the onsen egg and ordered the $2 salmon soup. It was definitely healthy and delicious. ⠀

This makes me feel really healthy and its seared well, i add on an onsen egg and it was great! Mentaiko was really tasty and would come back to try the other kinds like spicy and probably their udon, this cost about $10.60 and the space is open air!

Salmon was well-seared and tender; not overcooked and very well seasoned as well. Veggies provided were crunchy too and gave a nice texture to the overall dish. Added an onsen egg which was cooked to my liking, not overly raw but still runny with a nice thick consistency. For the quality of food produced, the price to pay is quite affordable!!!

Order the Mentaiko Salmon! They are quite generous on the Mentaiko portion & salmon well seared! Costs $10.90 with Mentaiko Salmon, Soba & Onsen Egg (Guess they threw in a big lettuce lead 🤭) Seem to be a healthy dish other than the Mayo~ enjoyed it a lot!

We ordered 4 bowls ($9.90 each)

Jerrenz: Mentaiko (salmon slices topped with spicy codfish roe mayo, freshly seared), udon noodle and onsen egg (+$1)

Jeraine: Mentaiko salmon, yuzu ume brown rice and onsen egg (+$1)

Hubby: Poké (sashimi salmon chunks tossed in housemade soy dressing), yuzu ume brown rice and onsen egg (+$1)

Mine: Mentaiko salmon, buckwheat soba and onsen egg (+$1)

And a small hot bowl of salmon miso soup ($2) which is so flavourful!! With salmon chunks, mushroom, carrot & radish

They’re generous with the mentaiko sauce. Salmon is seared so it’s still soft and not over cooked. Taste so so so good with my soba. And the onsen egg simply add much more creaminess and yumminess to this bowl! 🤤 Pickled ginger is very refreshing too! We all finished eating in no time. Will definitely be back cos it’s so good! 👍🏻
