Roasted Peanut

$3.70 · 4 Reviews

Sweet, savoury and creamy cereal milk + roasted peanut on (slightly oversalted) charcoal waffles. 1 for 1 with Burpple Beyond!

Tried ice cream at kindred folk where they offer a variety of interesting flavour, including wasabi, Watermelon-Calamansi, green tea Gao, banana crumble, stylo milo etc. Decided to try roasted peanut and roasted rice tea ($7.8). The roasted peanut one tastes like having peanut butter! The roasted rice tea is light and goes well with other flavour. Having deep fried man tou (+$1) with ice cream is a great idea - the mantou is hot and crispy yet not too much, a good combination of hot and cold. We think it is even better than having ice cream with waffle!

Don’t judge a book by its cover. Seriously, this cosy two-storey shop in the new King Albert Park mall dishes out some of the creamiest ice creams I’ve had (yes, creamier than Creamier!😱).

The flavours they offer are really unique too, like Watermelon-Kalamansi (really refreshing and not as icy as usual sorbets 👍🏻), Wasabi (not sure I can finish a whole scoop of it but wow, really shiok, must sample!) and Sea Salt Gula-Coconut that had little bits of coconut shavings in it for added texture.

Here’s the Roasted Peanut (as creamy as peanut butter but way more nutty) and the Cereal Milk (malty with a milky finish, also creamy) that we received FOR FREE (with every full priced pasta that you order).

Omg and I forgot about the Banana Crumble. If there’s anyone on Burpple that loves a good banana ice cream like me, you’ll love this too! 🍌 Comes with actual (but not very crunchy) bits of crumble. 👏🏻 #Burpproved

Located in the new King Albert Park Mall, Kindred Folk is a cosy cafe where you'll find fusion pastas, cakes and the highlight — ice cream (from $3.70 per scoop)! There are 15 flavours available, all freshly churned within the cafe. Try the best-selling Watermelon Kalamansi for something refreshing or go for the creamy Roasted Peanut if you're a nut lover. For adventurous foodies, try the Wasabi flavour that Burpple Tastemaker Xing Wei Chua recommends — an odd combination of vanilla ice cream and punchy wasabi that he says will grow on you. Place your orders on the first floor before heading up to the second floor where you'll find seats, and even a hammock you can relax in! Pro tip: Students in the area can enjoy the Lunch Sets (U.P. $12.90) at just $9.90 — what a steal!
