I had the privilege of trying their Six Senses Signature Auspicious Menu ($168++ per pax), a 10-course dinner set ❤

🔹️King Ora Salmon Yu Sheng: serves up to 10pax, their healthier rendition uses shredded vegetables, crunchy homebaked muesli 💯, grapeseed oil, a blend of fruit juice (e.g. orange juice 🍊), dried cranberries, mango & orange peel, topped with citrus-cured salmon 🐟. Very hearty & i love the crunch! 😋

🔹️Treasures of the Sea in Yellow Pot Superior Rich Broth: this is seafood goodness 🌟 comprising thorny sea cucumber, abalone, fish maw, sea whelk, dried oyster & flower mushroom with broccoli! 🤤

Do you know that no additives are used in Yellow Pot’s Chinese dishes? Inhaling goodness and exhaling happiness with this grilled pork cheeks inspired by 羊肉串 and naturally flavored and tenderized with lemongrass, garlic, celery, shallots, plus cumin chili to finish. Inspired by chrysanthemum indigenous to Kaifeng city, this smooth signature cocktail at Yellow Pot is possibly my favourite item off the menu. Made of chrysanthemum cordial and herbal Tanqueray gin, it’s fragrant of floral notes and a touch sweet, as bitter gin hits ever so lightly in the back of your tongue.

If you’re abstaining from alcohol, try The Kaifeng ($9) — the non drinker-friendly version features the hotel’s housemade sparkling water.

The sweet and refreshing “Escape from Kaifeng” signature cocktail comes baby-sized alongside similarly dwarfian dirty and dry martinis. Elsewhere, the boutique luxury hotel plays it all Asian mystique with its Chinese characters, singing bowls, resident traditional Chinese doctor (?!) and black, gold and yellow hues.
