Crispy Bun with Condensed Milk

A well-loved classic. It could be crispier, but given it's a bun not bread slice, I could overlook it. Eat while hot - the enjoyment falls sharply.

These days as I often have to make @myprincetravis sleep. By the time he sleep, I may also end up in my slumberland haha. Too tired! Glad that I finally made it to my mummy friends supper outing! This round we have it at @tsuiwahsingapore. A great place for supper at wee hours. Especially for the clubbers at Clarke Quay!

Featuring their Crispy Bun with Condensed Milk ($4). It was highly recommended by many. A simple comfort bun. A freshly baked bun which was spread with butter and drizzled with condensed milk. It is crispy on the inside and fluffy on the inside. It is not overly sweet for me. Great to be eaten hot!

Food was indeed quite good.. Love the King Prawns in XO Sauce with Tossed Noodles.. The prawns were plump and succulent.. 😋
.
The unassuming Crispy Bun with Condensed Milk was really sinful and comforting.. Simple yet irresistible lol.. The Kagoshima–style Braised Pork Cartilage with Tossed Instant Noodles is also one of those comfort food for me.. Can't go wrong with the braised pork and springy instant noodles.. 😂 I need to go back some time soon.. 😀

$4 | As the name goes, crispy buns with really generous amount of condensed milk. Sweetness is just right. Worth it!

Craving for HK's Cha Chaan Teng on a Thursday Brunch, we headed for Tsui Wah. Loved the Crispy Bun with Condensed Milk ($4), with the right ratio of butter and lashings of condensed milk. P/S : Consume while it's hot. Also enjoyed the deep fried wanton served with sweet & sour sauce ($9.50), which is a good match. The king prawns in XO sauce with tossed noodles ($11) was a tad too bland if not fully immersed in the XO sauce. The French toast bites with vanilla ice-cream ($9.50) satisfied our sweet tooth for the day.

Finally jumped onto the bandwagon of Tsui Wah, the popular Hong Kong 茶餐厅 that recently opened their 1st branch in Singapore 🎉 Although there was a Saturday dinner queue at 630pm, the queue moved surprisingly fast and we were seated in about 20min. The food came 10min later, true to Hong Kong’s F&B culture of “chop-chop” service👏🏻 To be honest, I wasn’t particularly impressed with Tsui Wah when I first tried it in Hong Kong, perhaps that was because I didn’t order the right dishes then and there were so many other amazing food options in Hong Kong😍 This time round, I tried Beef Brisket and Tendon Curry ($13) and it turned out to be pretty good! The beef was soft, fell apart easily and the curry goes really well with rice. The Kagoshima-Style Braised Pork Cartilage with Tossed Instant Noodles ($9.50) was not bad too. For weekend indulgence, we ordered Crispy Bun with Condensed Milk ($4) and I like that it was not too sweet. Overall, the signature dishes are pretty decent and if you would like to give Tsui Wah a try, don’t let the queue deter you - it might move faster than you think!

Everything was just right with this one - not too sweet, milky or wet - very tasty and crispy. Perfect comfort food :) Just eat it immediately when it’s served, when it’s the crispiest!

There is Central, Streats, Xin Wang. And then there is Tsui Wah.

Legitly hailing from Hong Kong, their outlet at Clarke Quay dishes out some unique delights like their sizzling plate noodles, fusion western dishes like pork chops and lamb chops as well as lighter dishes like the fish rolls with mi xian.

Not to be missed is the crispy bun with condensed milk. Really, with this you can just fling those calorie concerns out of the door 😂

Be here before 10.30pm though. After which, a slightly more restrictive supper menu will be in play. 📸 : @michellechun_
