Delicious appetiser

I think they’ve taken the duck off the menu; it was cooked nicely and quite tender. The flatbread was my favourite, as this was pretty tasty and delicious with the creamy labneh. The crispy eggplant was okay, but the batter could have been lighter!

This Halloumi & Squash ($16) number comes with sweet pickled beets, collard greens, almond flakes, and a nutty burnt butter dressing. Sounds fabulous, but unfortunately the seasonings were a wee off and it turned out a little meh. The squash for one, though well roasted, was completely unseasoned. Would’ve been fine if the burnt butter dressing had a touch of salt, but there was also way much of that sweet pickling juice added in which tipped the whole salad onto the sweeter side without good balance. They were also too heavy-handed with the dressing, leaving me eating basically greasy vegetables sitting in melted butter. The biggest disappointment however has to be the halloumi: the semi-hard cheese was fried to the point of being just crazy tough. Honestly if they’d just refine each component and pay a little more attention, this could be a fabulous salad.

Especially when you’ve got some crunchy hazelnut praline crumbled over, and decent enough vanilla bean ice cream to go with. Ainch gonna say it’s the best I’ve had or whatevs, as long as it’s oozy and gooey and flowy I’m good.

...but this place does really freaking good fries. Their Herb Parmesan Fries sees a medley of fried herbs (rosemary being the most obvious) and sharp, grated parmesan, sprinkled over a very generous serving of, may I say, very well done fries. Aioli on the side’s really delicious too!

Does any love sticky date pudding as much as I do? 🙋🏻‍♀️ Tried Don Ho’s recently cause my fave one at The Lokal was unavailable, and I may just have found an almost-as-good alternative!! They’ve got the uber moist, dense, yet fine-crumbed cake down pat, topped with a salted toffee sauce that, may I say, is a stroke of genius? My biggest and ONLY peeve with this is, why isn’t the cake hot?! I wouldn’t even call it lukewarm it was basically like room temperature, which of cause dropped the shiokness level by 50%.

This was creamy but not to the point where it’s cloying, and there was a strong truffle smell which was so inviting. Almost like a risotto actually. The mushrooms were done well, and the ratio of cheese / orzo / mushroom / egg was just nice!

This was nice! My dad picked this and he was very satisfied :) the pulled duck was tender, and the toasted sesame bun was good. The cabbage slaw provided a fresh component which complemented the duck. These were small though, on hindsight they were a bit pricey.

Preferred the hummus over the imam biyaldi, but they were both delicious, well-seasoned & refreshing. We almost ordered a second bowl of hummus, it had great texture & taste. The cauliflower & artichoke was also good; they were soft & had a nice roasty flavour, and I enjoyed the kale & creamy ricotta that came with it.

This is my second visit to don ho, and their dishes still continue to impress!

Don Ho is a great place to celebrate a special occasion. When you make your reservation you can let them know the special occasion and they will make you feel special indeed! Thanks Don Ho!

Pricing is worth it especially for the great service.

Atmosphere is cool, lotsa indoor greenery.

You can use Entertainer App here.

Don Ho is a lovely place, sharing the premise with Loloku, it cheers you up immediately when you enter the restaurant.
The tropical decor of flamingoes and plants gives off a relaxed vibe and the food was not too shabby either
We had the kale salad which came with toasted pumpkin and roasted nuts and ordered sides of poached eggs and smashed avocado
Worth a revisit

So glorious! It’s sinful to indulge... but there is always a better time to start the diet.

Found the proportion of the cheese later to the graham base a bit off. 😅 but good for you if you are into the graham crust. Found this to be quite mediocre, tasted very homemade with that prominent Philadelphia cream cheese taste. Not impressed.

Moist and dense brownie made with 58% cacao. Love the crunch from the generous amount of pecan nuts. Served with legit vanilla ice cream (with visible vanilla beans!!)

I like how focaccia is used for this eggs ben instead of the typical English muffin. Consistently well poached eggs, sauteed spinach, generous 2 big slices of smoked ham. Indeed simplicity at its best!

Stuck with a safe option this time but you know the place is worth a second visit when they make serve amazing classic brunch food. Will certainly be back to try some less commonly found brunch items such as crumbled pork cutlet and iman biyaldi (stuffed aubergine)!

Hearty start to the weekend with this simple but flavorful breakkie!! Perfectly poached egg (JUST ONE), smashed avocado, fresh tomatoes, feta, sourdough toast. Normally not a big fan of feta but surprised to really enjoy it here! Perhaps because it’s crumbled and served in smaller pieces scattered over the delicious smashed avo with the juicy tomatoes. Yum! 😋

Just to complete that holiday experience, cheers to an ice cold glass of grapefruit juice. Pretty decent and refreshing with the ginger adding an interesting twist to this concoction.

A lovely place for brunch, felt as if I were on holiday! The mac and cheese was deliciously creamy and cheesy if only a little too much for one person to handle. Best shared among friends. The rest of the menu was pretty interesting to with things like crustes broiche french toast. I'd be back to try that.
