Veggie kare kare (ala carte) @ $5

Mixture of long beans, xiao baicai (?) and brinjal. The sauce is a bit like curry sauce but with peanut taste, quite nice!

Bopis (ala carte) @ $13

Exotic cuz it's made in beef lungs and pig heart. Quite nice though not suitable for everyone.

Lechon sisig (ala carte) @ $15

Classic filipino food - chopped roasted pork in butter, onions and chilli and an egg on a sizzling plate. This is quite yummy though also oily and salty. Good with rice.

There's also the rice meal option @ $11

I have had my fair share of discussion/arguments (lol) with my friends on which presentation of sisig is the best - whether served plain (argued to be authentic), with egg, with mayo, et al. But one thing remains the same, it is good, regardless (and it’s a matter of preference lol), esp if you’re craving for hometown food lol.

Don Lechon’s Lechon Sisig ($10 for rice meal), for one, can definitely provide my Filipino food craving fix. Served in a classic hot plate with egg on top (you’re supposed to mix the egg while it’s sizzling - so better be fast as it’s not that long), the chopped meat has the right amount of chewiness from the fats, and crisp from the skin. The oil it is dredged in as well is even flavourful (lechon oil? Lol, there was a few misses before tho wherein it tasted too much of butter/margarine, but I haven’t had that experience on my recent visits) The chopped chilis add to the flavor as well

Chopped Lechon (0.5kg - $22, 1kg - $40)
I came here for these, but these were served cold, which already meant what we were having weren't of the best quality. Some pieces of skin were crispy, but there were some that were very hard and almost impossible to bite through. There's nothing special about the pork here as well other than its thick cut.

Overall pretty disappointing, and after being hyped for such a long time, I guess the standards have really dropped drastically.

You can choose to get rice meals/ order dishes ala carte here, but the former will come with rice and smaller portion of meat that's more suitable for 1 pax.

Lechon Sisig Ala Carte ($14)
This was the better of the 2 dishes. It's meant to be piping hot when served, but it only sizzled for a good 15s before it stopped, which was pretty disappointing. The meat here was quite flavourful and went well with rice, but it's apparently meant to be crispier.
