Japanese food from @donburi_maruya ! Visit this place if you want to enjoy premium japanese food at affordable pricing.

Featured are the following items:

🌟Black pig pork katsu curry ($12.80): I love japanese curry sauce! A very generous portion serving of thick sweet curry is given! More than enough to accompany each and every scoop of rice! The pork katsu was also a very thick cut, and deep fried to perfection covered with panko bread crumbs! I also like how the meat was towards the leaner cut side, not fatty!

🌟Deluxe Unagi Toji Don ($15.80): For unagi lovers, check this out! A huge slab of unagi is given, with a layer of fluffy egg omelette! Do remember to get the chilli power at the counter for added spice for your meal!

🌟Mixed Seafood Fry Teishoku ($13.80): If you love seafood, check this out! This came with 2 ebi fry, 1 oyster fry and 1 crab cream croquette! Love the crispy fried ebi and oyster. The crab cream croquette was also very smooth and delicious! This came with a salad too, and you can order without rice!

They have two outlets:
-New Teck Park #02-01B S556741
-56/58 Lorong 25A Geylang, S388248

If you want to dine in aircon, visit the new teck part outlet! It is diagonally across the road from Lorong Chuan MRT! For the geylang outlet, it is also just a short walk from Aljunied MRT! Both outlets very accessible via MRT

It was around $15++. When I first received the order and collected from the store I was damn disappointed with how little portion it SEEMINGLY had because the wooden bowl was so BIG. Under all that fatty and delicious unagi is a thick layer of heavy rice drenched in the glaze/sauce and typical “oyako-don style” egg. 😍Despite its size, I felt really full after finishing the whole bowl that came with miso soup and a side of salad!

Will definitely go back to try their other rice bowls.

Pork Katsu Don ($10 - using reward coupon from JPassport App) Pork Katsu was really well marinated and easily to chew but the sauce for Don was really extreme salty towards the end. I don't really recommended people to come here to be honest because of taste for sauce is quite bad to the extend. I rather takeaway from Don Don Donki Ricebowl and the price is more cheaper than Marche 😒

Oyakodon Set ($10)
Boiled chicken and egg... a delicious comfort meal in a bowl
Highlight was the sauce that add so much flavor to the rice. Sprinkle some chilli flakes to spice up the dish!

Looks can be deceiving, especially when it comes to the size of a rice bowl. Probably filling only a quarter of the bowl, the oyako don here fell short of expectations in both portion and taste. Chicken chunks here were dry and bland. Instead of the watery egg blanket that drapes over the rice and meat, the egg here felt like a mess, mixing in between chicken and onion slices untidily. Overall taste was salty, probably heavy on the soy sauce marination.

Costing S$12.50 for just the Donburi, I was quite happy with the warm bowl of rice with pieces of grilled eel, egg and sauce, because given the fact that I had this post-dinner, I was happy that the portion or rice was not big, and the Toji was done such that every grain of rice was sufficiently covered with the sauce. And having this at 8.45pm on a weekday night implied that there’s ample seats for dining in.
