水煮鱼!while it may translate to water cooked fish in english, its clear steamed fish in a chilli oil (mala) broth. Its not too spicy and is extremely generous with vermicilli and vegetables! Highly worth it, i think its about ~$25. Also its a place filled with the happy voices of locals gathering, an authentic spot in the heart of Chinatown

This dish was amongst the many other dishes that we ordered!

The dishes here are priced extremeley reasonably, and taste good! I loved this 水煮鱼, as well as the dumplings, and a beancurd skin appetiser that they had!

The only drawback for me is that the food is slightly on the salty/oily side, but I guess it's ok for a once in a while treat!

Not for the faint hearted because some dishes can get quite spicy 🔥

I’ve been here a couple of times with my friends, and I decided to bring my family of 6 over to try the food. We ordered a whooping 13 dishes, and for my fam who is usually a little picky with food, they really enjoyed it! Best part of our meal is that the price of these 13 dishes is even cheaper than some of the tzechar places outside (with less dishes ordered)! Worth the price and calories!!

The food was decent, portions good for sharing, reasonably priced, not too oily/salty, etc etc. Good place for a large group meal.

Place might get crowded, and the staff tends to force guests to share tables with other guests if the group size is not large enough to fill up the tables. I think the problem is the restaurant has more large round tables than smaller tables, hence the limited choice of seating. Not an issue of you're comfortable sharing tables with strangers 👌🏻

Heavily seasoned, the food at 东北人家 comes in hefty portions. Its incredibly value for money as this entire picture cost about $75 and there were plenty of leftovers. The perfect place for communal dining, it's boisterous, noisy and evident by the crowds, the best place to catch up with friends.

这家我可以😍 I cannot decide which is more enticing: the super appetising 东北大拉皮, mala-infused 干煸四季豆, guilt-inducing deep fried pumpkin with salted egg or the wallet-friendly price of $8.70/pax for a 9-course meal💃🏻
