Majority of our dishes were strong flavoured so this stood out to be more light and a tad bland. Was hoping for a slightly bigger portion of mentai!

じゃがもちカマンベール  or jagamochi camembert (as found in their online menu) is definitely a must-order if you're here. The deep fried potato mochi was so chewy and soft upon the first bite, then the cheese filling started to ooze out. You wouldn't want to miss this!

After all the fried stuff we had in the beginning, this chazuke was the ultimate comfort food. The steamed rice in the light dashi stock was made better with mentaiko that gave the umami shock to my tastebuds. The green tea taste was rather subtle though.

This was the first time I found these two items that I like a lot, cosying up to each other on the same plate. Purists (yes @sams_blogs, I’m looking at you 😜) must have been cringing when they watched my #InstagramStory but I liked the combination.
In case you are wondering, the earthiness of the slimy fermented soya beans was muted slightly by the curry (which contained small pieces of boiled-down beef). I know it doesn’t sound palatable but it’s what I’d label as “Japanese-style stodgy comfort food”. The kind of sake/beer/whisky-soaking dish to end a night of non-stop imbibing with.

Not the most premium cut of steak but the sauce and the grilling resulted in meat that’s tasty, juicy and tender. A decent choice if you are seeking bit of protein to accompany the drinks at this sake bar.

Deep fried but they weren't greasy at all and in fact, the batter was thin, but thick enough to get that nice crunch! The Kani Cream filling was light and creamy with a smooth consistency.
