Doughnut shack’s Bombolinis first caught my eye on ig with their pistachio bombos! Had been wanting to try it for the longest time and imagine my delight when I got hold of them! The vibes weren’t great when I stepped into the tiny shack, with the place reeking of oil because of the enclosed kitchen within the same space. The bombos and donuts looked pretty decent and legit on the shelves. However, when I brought them home hours later, oil has formed at the bottom of the box. There were trails of oil! Not just a droplet or two, or a stained patch of oil but visible streams of oil 😔 The dough of the bombos where’s fluffy at all too. The pistachio filling was the best out of the lot. White peach jam tasted like store-bought peach jam while the spiced vanilla was okay. There weren’t specks of vanilla beans so I suppose essence was used and there were no vanilla pods involved in the making of the custard. The honeycomb chocolate was a disappointment. Not only was the dark chocolate artificial in taste; the honeycomb was sticky and overly chewy - definitely nothing like your Cadbury honeycomb. It’s all so stale 😞

Soft, fluffy, packed with creamy pistachio ganache.

I’ll be frank, the only flavour I like is pistachio, the rest was ordinary. But, I’m a huge fan of pistachio! 10/10 will be back just for the pistachio.

these were pillowy, soft and delightful. very sugary too but that’s probably what makes them so tasty. the creme brûlée flavour is really unique and the torched, caramelised top makes it one notch above the rest. thai milk tea & black sesame flavours are pretty good too.

8/10 🌟

The 𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐨 𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞 was hands down my favourite, the smooth and nutty filling was unmatched in flavour. The 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐞 came in a close second, the creamy custard balanced out by the crunchy charred top.

I know a lot of people love the 𝐏𝐁&𝐉, but it was alright, the jam was really too sweet and tasted quite artificial. But PB&J is never a bad combo 🤷🏻‍♀️. The 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐚𝐳𝐞𝐥𝐧𝐮𝐭 was decadent and rich, tasted like a better nutella haha. The 𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐞𝐝 was nice, you can definitely get a good feel of the quality of their dough on this one.

Sadly, the 𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐨 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 was a miss. I love taro, and the filling by itself tasted really good quality. But the combination with the dough just didn’t work for me.

The dough itself is quality! Perfectly soft and definitely on the chewier side, which I love. They’re supposedly baked as well, glad that they weren’t too oily! Also, I think they could do without the coating sugar on top tbh but they’re still really well balanced!

we paid $5 for 2 pieces. we ordered one nutella and one pistachio doughnut and both were generously filled! upon breaking apart the doughnut to share, the creamy and decadent filling oozed out and it was a blissful feeling licking every last bit from our finger tips.

the doughnuts are fresh and airy. the nutella one had rich chocolatey filling that might be a little heavy, while the pistachio filling had hints of whites chocolate. i highly recommend this store if you’re looking to indulge in some mochi like donuts that will leave you wanting for more!

after trying the doughnuts here, i’m afraid to try other doughnut places that might not satisfy me the same way:

Assorted 6 pieces of baked doughnuts & bombolinis.
Happy snacks!
Amazing texture and fillings!
